I guess I will start this off....

What's your favorite anime?
What is your favorite genre of movie?
Favorite meal of the day?
Favorite Ninja Turtle?

Rurouni Kenshin I love stuff having to do with samurai and he's kind of a role model character.

Winry (post: 1398245) wrote: What is your favorite genre of movie?

Well I'm not sure if I have a favorite genre, but most of my favorite movies happen to be period pieces with lots of action, for example Last Samurai and Gladiator are 2 that are up there in my favs list. (Of course along with passion of the Christ. :D)

Winry (post: 1398245) wrote:Favorite meal of the day?

Don't know I'd say lunch but one tends to feel like your winding down after that so maybe Breakfast? It gives you the energy to start your day ^-^]Favorite Ninja Turtle?
Donatello No doubt about that. He could totally pwn every other turtle if he made a machine that could XD

quote=Alcuinus (post: 1398259)]What anime best exemplifies your favorite anime art style? :)
oh man that's a hard question, I mean I can easily go with Rurouni Kenshin which like i said earlier is my favorite anime, but that's to easy. I could also go with samurai champloo, which I think has a very edgy style to them, but even still similar to alot of stuff out there.

So I'd say that my favorite anime art style is somewhere between Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo and the cartoons of the 80's like Transformers, but especially Thundercats and Silverhawks.

The reason being is because I love Gankutsuou's use of colors and textures in the anime and as for the 80's cartoons they just had this Beautiful fluidity to them. Everything flowed beautifully. just check out this bit from the silver hawks opening

Silver Hawks

Ahem, you said ANYTHING lol jk. I think my questions are simple.

What's your major and if it's not too personal, what college are you attending? :red:

What were your favorite cartoons/shows growing up?

What's your favorite Disney movie?

I've been wondering about what people may think about this ... do you think there are certain anime shows/movies that as Christians maybe we shouldn't watch? If so, which ones and why?

For example, I read what Chobits was about before watching it, but I didn't know it had a lot of ecchi scenes. It is funny when he gets nose bleeds haha. But yeah ... I had no idea that it would have that. It was mainly for two scenes, but they were very ecchi.
I really did like the story, I just wish it wasn't too sexual.

I major in graphic Design should be finishing sometime next year. As for school Well it's not that it's too personal or anything but I think somewhere in the Caa rules it says something about giving away things like the location of where you go to school. So If I meet you at Supercon I'll tell you then ok?

What were your favorite cartoons/shows growing up?
let's see X-men, Sonic Sat-am, Gargoyles, Batman, Rurouni kenshin, Reboot, we watched dbz alot but I wouldn't say it's my fav xD. There are some I have to watch some shows again like "Pirates of Dark Water" to see if it's as good as my memory serves me. XD

What's your favorite Disney movie?
Lilo & Stitch by far. I loved the setting

I've been wondering about what people may think about this ... do you think there are certain anime shows/movies that as Christians maybe we shouldn't watch? If so, which ones and why?

Personally I think you should use descretion when your watching certain anime/movies. Remember God wants us to us wisdom when we're deciding what to do or watch. For me It's really a matter of (a.) does this Glorify God (b.) do I feel comfortable watching this. Those 2 are usually a good indicator of whether it's ok to watch it. mind you the 1st one is trickier than the last one but i think it's do able. :D

Hmmmm..... Not sure If I have an favorite writers. Right now I'm reading "Velvet Elvis" by Rob bell, the guy that did the devotional dvd series "Nooma" but that's about it. lol sorry I'm more into comic books and even then i don't really pay attention to the who made it (yeah I know i'm a bad comic book fan T_T) I do like Stan Lee though. He's one of the few famous people I want to meet, the others being Mr. Miyamoto and Hayao Miyazaki.

What do you think of Firestorm the superhero? (every time I see your username, I think of him)

lol I don't know cause I only have one comicbook with him and he's a badguy in it for some reason (It was a green lantern comic so he might not be the guy i'm talking aobut). I looked him up on wikipedia and I love the fact that he's basically a scitzo XD (well the older version anyways). 2 people fusing to become 1 character is a very novel Idea when It's not in the dbz universe XD

HHHMMMM great question. I'd say that despite the fact that there are alot of things that are disputable with television of all types of medium, There are the times where there are really characters or actions that characters take that really remind you of something biblically based for example a character adopting someone off the streets or someone sacrificing themselves for someone who doesn't deserve it and how they change afterward. That's something that I think God can use to really teach you something so really it's about that ratio of teachable against sinful content. Of course you can also learn what not to do too but that can get much trickier and can even be an excuse to see something you really shouldn't see. Also i think the Holy Spirit would be able to help you see whether God wants you to watch the show or not. the holy spirit's conviction is very helpful at showing you whether God approves of this show or not :).

Dogs

Atria35 (post: 1398698) wrote:And what breed, if any (or do you just love them no matter what?)

I really like all types of dogs there are not really any I don't like, but
Alaskan huskies are up there really among my favs along with American Bulldogs. some others that are interesting are Weimariners (which were used in WW2 in fighting against the nazi's, which is where their nickname "the gray ghost" came to be) and also Rhodesian Ridgebacks, which are my cousin's fav (they are used to help hunt down lions.)

TGJesusfreak (post: 1399280) wrote:Why? (philosophically speaking)?)

Well it depends doesn't God want us to find out? I mean that's why we continually search deeper and Deeper to know about him more and more. But the more we look the more we should want to know. We should not be stagnant in our faith. I'm not the one to say that I'm constantly like that but i do think that's where we should be. In that quest of knowing our Saviour more and more don't you agree?

TGJesusfreak (post: 1399280) wrote:Do you want to answer this question??)

Can i answer this question with another question?

TGJesusfreak (post: 1399280) wrote:What is the meaning of life? (do NOT say 42! XD)

it's to serve God in whatever calling he leads you in and to praise Him in all circumstances. Basically he shouldn't just be number one in your universe but the center and whole of it :D.

A comedian I heard put it this way in a skit where he had the audience ask questions to God which he pretended he was on the phone with.
"What's the meaning of life?" one audience member asked.
"Are you alive?"God replies"Then you know."

TGJesusfreak (post: 1399280) wrote:Is this a random question???)

I'd say it's pre-meditated :)

1.It's between a kimodo dragon or a narwhale those 2 I really think are cool :D

2.actually I do, right now one of my favs right now Batman: The killing joke and The Dark Knight returns, I also have Marvel 1602, Batman: Year One, a Tomb Raider graphic novel that I forgot the name.

3.maybe pumpkin scissors because It never really got to the real plot of the story. lol and maybe bobobo-bo bo-bo, but that's so dumb it's funny (plus an anime that shamelessly rips characters from other anime has to get some credit right?)

Ahhh cool is it live action or anime? (stupid question probably, but still -_-)

1.)I'd have to say Achmed, though It might be the popular answer, I just think he's just hilarious. XD

2.)Don't watch sitcoms very much but if I were to I'd probably say "Somebody loves Ramon" or "Big Bang Theory". But never ever never "Seinfield." I've never really seen him as funny at all. not even in the Bee movie. I guess it just takes a specific type of audience to enjoy it. But I just kind of saw it as "How is this funny?" and thus thought it annoying :D

3.)Actually yes I have I like it very much. Though I must say the episode with the evil angel was a bit confusing.

4). O_o I.... I don't know....
Ivan's begins to think back. And thus started my strange adventure....Mind you it was more like a whimsical distraction... But anything that distracts you from my line of work Should be Called an Adventure. Just sitting there waiting for students to call upon you is kind of... well.... Boring. So to find out I went to the other database of all knowledge...Facebook. From there I added the Doppleganger Celebrity app. and Began my search. My results were quite surprising to say the least. The Most likely match was some guy named Hank Azaria, who stared in Mystery Men. Not knowing who this guy is I looked to the top 3 known actors on the list, who just so happen to be the most hilarious matches XD. #1 on the top list was Ricky Martin.. "Ok understandable I'm hispanic I can get why it says that".Number was also umm... passable but still understandable #3 "Charlie Sheen really?" But really #2 left me flabergasted. Completely out of the blue "Denzel Washington? o_O but... whaaaa?" I started to wonder why women didn't just swoon at my footsteps or why filmmakers didn't just flock to my house to just have my name in the credits. "Maybe an amalgram of Ricky Martin, Denzel Washington, and Charlie Sheen is just to great for the known world to hear about... yeah... that's it..." At that point I finally knew why my life was the way it was. At that point the world felt right again XD

5.) Hard question. I don't think I have a least favorite food. At least I'm not sure if there is one that I don't like yet. I'm sure there is but just not thinking about it or haven't come across it yet. ?:(

6.) lol right now I just started watching ergo proxy but I'm in like the 1st few episodes so I'm haven't gotten to the deep stuff yet.

7.) I'd say maybe the Last Exile or Samurai Seven. Also count of monty Christo and the whole Rurouni kenshin series. But to be honest there's a ton of stuff I wish would be on my shelf. I'm actually kind of Jealous of my brother cause he's the one that's getting all these anime dvds and movies for christmas each year and great deals off of Amazon. he has a whole shelf full of stuff. I wish I had money for stuff like that T_T

8.)never saw battle tech (please don't hit me XD

9)Erg. Hard question. At first I feel in love with the knight and their whole code of honor thing, and then when "the last Samurai" came out and I feel in love with the culture of the samurai and their code of honor. I'm a very old school kind of guy. Chivalry, honor, all that stuff. Love it! so I can't really choose which because the idea of knights and samurai have so much between them. I mean yeah there are differences in religion. But putting others before yourself, standing for your word, being considerate even toward your enemy, and treating women with respect. All of that just gets me you know? :D

10) Snake eyes pwns any day of the week.

11.) lol can't really say that I have read much classical literature outside of what I've read in highschool. Probably should though XD

12.) this has already been stated earlier in the thread. But I must say I'm now reading Ted DekKer's Circle Trilogy which is quite good. Though the first book seems a bit rushed, the premise is good and seems like it would be prime material for an anime XD. I always imagine it as a movie or anime when I read it XD

THIS TOPICE HAS ARISEN FROM THE GRAVES TO FEED ON MORE QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!

but first I must answer these.

1. & 2.)Ted DeKker would probably be my fav right now. Got back into reading novels for a bit not to recently and his "Circle" Series is good. I love the details he gives and his vivid imagination. Also Rob bell is a great author as well if you want to do devotionals. His Book "Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith" Is a great book and really makes you think.

3. To be quite honest usually i'm a bit of a mess, but for some reason when I'm sad I like to clean. Weird I know but I guess it gives me a way to express my emotions physically and be productive at the same time. Not saying that I don't keep things clean usually though. XD

4. Oddly, It depends sometimes I sing, sometimes I hum. I sing usually just throughout my day though like if I have to go from one place to another i'll sing even if it's walking distance. I get into it too I'll actually get a bit loud XD Once someone said I should be on American Idol though so that made me happy :D

Right now that would probably be castaway from the band Chasen. If you wish to hear the song with the lyrics then here. I hope it ministers to you guys like has been to me :D

My favorite musical compositions right now would be anything from the "My Dream" cd from the Chinese Disabled peoples performing art troupe. What they can do is really inspiring. here's a look.
P.s while what you see here are the dancers (who are all hearing impaired) The orhestra is composed of people who are blind and or who are in wheel-chairs. Like I said truly inspiring.

I never said batman was my favorite comicbook character. I just said that Batman: The Killing Joke was one of my favorite graphic novels. My favorite characters are Wolverine and Nightcrawler.

Ella I will answer your questions when I get home XD
