Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I'm stuck on Dantoine. That one Mandalorian captain... I haven't figured out how to get around his shield yet. >.< I've been slaughtered 8 times now. And that's with two Jedi on my team.

Also, wanting to restart FFVII. My friend has already beaten and turned in FFXIII, and I'm itching for some good ol' Final Fantasy.

Hamster Ball, a new PSN download. It's fun, but it lacks an online multiplayer mode which it could really benefit from.

Crisis Core, Uncharted 2, Megaman 9

I haven't beaten any of them yet. I'm at wiley's castle on MM9, but those instakill lava beams keep getting me, even after I figured out how to stop them.

I get through U2 very slowly, and I'm about 3/4 of the way through it.

Crisis Core only gets played once a week, if that. I don't spend too much time with my PSP. It's a Seoul trip only kind of device. I got through a whole set of missions the other day. I now hate the bugs that silence you. Really... I've wasted a good 50 remedies because you can't kill them with anything but magic.

If I could find a remotejoy version for Ubuntu, I'd be playing that one more often. Using a proper controller and having a larger screen really does help.

I won't be buying any more games until I finish those. Next up is Heavy Rain.

The game I spend the most time with isn't a "beat it" kind of game. I've just been installing and testing mods on UT3 on the PS3. There is custom sound support on it now, so I expected at the very least to see some recooks, but not even the one that needed it the most (Mario level on UT2d) got it yet. The only map I've found with custom sound is one that had it hacked in. It can't be turned off or turned down, even if you mute all system sounds. It's in Tokyo Sewer, and it way predated the update.

Borderlands, Pokemon: Heart Gold, Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite, and Megaman 10 off and on (can't beat a single boss on Hard mode yet, aarrrgh).

Sooner or later I'll finally break down and get God of War III. Sooner or later...

Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse - Episode 1: The Penal Zone. I've never played a Sam & Max game before, but I've heard good things about them. So far it's very entertaining.

Last week I finished FFXII. Wow. I want the last two months of my life back. <_< Seriously, I haven't been so disappointed by a FF game since...FFI. And at least that one had the added merit of being the very first one, so I wasn't expecting a riveting story or anything. But...when I played FFXII, I was hoping for a story that was a little less...lame. I never thought I would miss Tidus' inappropriately loud remarks (I don't mind Tidus by the end, but wow is he a jerk or what at the beginning?!), but I certainly prefer "Hey, what if she, like, comes onto me?" to Vaan's flat and rare lines.

Then I started Star Wars: The Force Unleashed immediately after, and just beat it this morning. That's got to be the fastest linear game I've ever played. At least this time I knew it was going to be hopelessly cheesy, since it's Star Wars :P I played the Wii version for the added kinetic pleasure that makes you feel like you actually are using the Force, and it was worth it, I think, but after watching the Light Side ending on YouTube (because they hide it extremely well; I never even saw where the Emperor and that other dude were), I realized just how much I was missing by playing this version, graphics-wise. The story and voice acting were super lame, and the graphics were atrocious for this gen, but it was a fun game to play once. You get to be an evil Sith and fight Jedi, which is good enough for me. Never really want to play it again, though.

Now I'm just continuing to play Xenogears, which I've been slowly going through for a long time now. I knew since the attack on Lahan way back in the beginning that I loved the game, and I knew since the transition to Kislev partway through that the game is every bit as good as FFX, which I hold up as the best JRPG I've ever played. And it continues to surprise and excite me, so I'm loving it to death. I'm getting close to the end of the first disc, according to the walkthroughs, and I'm just about ready to go back through the Tower of Babel for the second time.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

I just got a PSP, and, being a big fan of the original VII, I had to get Crisis Core. I am absolutely loving my purchase so far. The audio and the vocabulary take me back while the innovations in combat provide a fresh experience. So far the story is superb! More play tomorrow.

Beat MM9. Got and beat Heavy Rain before I beat the other two. Got distracted by Robotrek, another game I rented a lot but never beat as a kid. I'm gonna beat it this time. Still working on Uncharted 2 and Crisis Core. Don't know why I've had such a difficult time finishing U2. It's not dying over and over, because I've been finding it easier than the first game so far. It's more that the only times I game are weekends, and I usually focus on online multiplayer now. That's how I spend time with friends... I have yet to even try U2's multiplayer, because one of my friends doesn't have it. I think I'm only a couple chapters from the end, though...

I've just gotten back into gaming after a while by playing through the Halo Reach Beta. I do wish it didn't have to end, but alas, it ends May 19th.

Kind of on a whim because the electricity was out for most of the day, I started playing Bowser's Inside Story on my sister's DS. To my surprise, I actually like it quite a bit! It's much more casual and silly than most of the games I go for, but there's a certain charm to it all the same. And it really is funny - in the council where they're trying to decide what to do with the new troubles in the Toadstool kingdom, one guy says, "I recommend that we panic!" XD Somehow that just got me laughing hysterically. And when Mario and Luigi meet up after being swallowed by Bowser, Luigi falls on his brother's shoulder and cries like a faucet XD Gameplay wise, it's fun and not very hard. I'll probably be done soon, at the rate I'm going.

Still working on Crisis Core: FFVII. The first time that the game used the Shinra theme from the original FFVII, I got chills. TSD=fanboy. Definately an interesting take on some of Cloud's flashbacks we were privy to in FFVII. Aerith is absolutely wonderful. It's nice to have her personality developed a little more than in the original. Zack's fate is begining to cast a shadow over the plot, and it's quite sad because he endears himself to the player pretty quickly.

More play tonight!

Robotrek, but only for 2 hours a week (on sunday)

I'm currently building up my 2 robots. I can't wait until I'm able to make something other than "Crap you start with 1" and get some new weapons for my bots. I'm level 8 now, and I think I finally was able to make 2 things non-stock, but they're still 1. When sword 2 hits, I'll jump on that... I just hope weapon levels transfer to new weapons (of the same type, of course), though given this game so far, I won't count on it.

I'm still not quite up to the point I was in my chain of rentals, where I was locked in Jail and couldn't figure out how to get out.

Si. Game was interesting, though it's annoying how there are no subtitles if you decide to play the songs in Japanese instead of English. "Cornet is my name and I'm a puppeteer too" Really? Who else was a puppeteer? (actually, she MAY have been speaking to / about another Puppeteer, I don't really remember... It's been years)

While all the internet memes have definitely harmed the experience, it is still a very enjoyable puzzler.

Plus, it is free on steam right now. Hard to beat that.

Finally got an excuse to try Torchlight. It's pretty neat. The level structure is a lot like Diablo 1 and the interface enhancements are akin to D2 and the art style is WoW-like. It's pretty fun, although the fact that it's only single-player means that if it wasn't on sale, I probably wouldn't have picked it up because this is the kind of game that I'd likely need to play with others to keep me going at it.

 My brother just got that on Steam like half an hour ago!

I somehow didn't save last time I played Xenogears, so I had to do a bunch over again :shady:

But I'm getting through Bowser's Inside Story in leaps and bounds. Fighting as Bowser when he's huge is so fun!! ^_^ I love breathing fire, 'cause you have to blow at the mic! So awesome, like you're breathing fire yourself. But my left hand gets tired when I have to hold the DS vertically like that. Too heavy for my wimpy hand.... x.x
