this is for my momma

Some of you may remember that i did a post concerning my dad's testimony. now, it's my momma's turn.

my mom was a member of a large, but poor, family. They were a migrant family- they would live in Texas, but migrate to the northern states to find work. consequently, they missed a lot of school. to make matters worse for my mom, she failed two grades. and was therefore considered the dumbest of her family.

my mom was also raised Catholic- which basically meant going on Easter and Christmas to the church. the rest of the year was lived as they saw fit.

when my mom was 21, enter my dad. mom meets dad. dad and mom get married. dad converts to the faith. dad tells mom that he will walk with Christ with her or without her. mom decides to follow.

And this is hwere a lot of troubles begin. See, my dad gave his entire life to Christ, whereas my mom was used to giving Him the leftovers. This caused problems. Another problem was that when my mom started reading the Bible, she found doctrinal issues with the Catholic faith, which put her at odds with her family. Consequently, my grandmother called my mom a traitor. To make matters worse, my dad is pushing my mom to give more of her life to Christ. At this point of her life, she is on the edge- unable to to decide on whether to stary so her kids can have a Christian father, or leave before she is driven out of her mind.

To make a long story short, my mom did give her life to Christ. She finally had enough faith to go to college and become a teacher. She is the only member of her immediate family to have gone to college. She is now 100% for Christ, and it has made all the difference. Glory to God. One day, i HOpe to marry a girl like her.

That's really cool. She managed to overcome all those difficult situations by God's grace and His strength.

Wow, that is such an inspirational testimony. Give your mom an extra big hug - she deserves it. God is so good to us. I'm glad you are blessed with a family like the one you have, Ice. What a blessing. ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
