I went to the sunrise service today, and for the first time I read the Road to Emmaus story. It was really awesome! (check out Luke 24:13-the end of the chapter) I didn't know Jesus purposefully disguised himself and asked the Disciples what was going on...and they were pretty much like "Have you been living in a box?" XD It was hilarious...

Happy Easter to everyone!

However, let's try to carry this feeling YEAR ROUND and remember EVERY SINGLE DAY what Jesus did for us, and how he blesses each and everyone of us on a daily basis. We shouldn't have to wait for one day to come along to give our thanks and praise, that should be done EVERYDAY we have breath in our bodies. No disrespect to anyone here, but that's the main problem with Christians nowadays; we want to be "holy, holy" one day, and then going back to the same crappy behavior the next. Christianity is not something you can turn on and off like a light-switch--you have to live it EVERYDAY, not just on Sundays, and not just on Easter and Christmas.

That being said, once again, I wish everyone in here a Happy Easter today, tomorrow and forever more.

I wish I could find that Gary Larson comic of Jesus pouring himself a cup of coffee, looking really worn out, and saying "Geez I wonder what time it is...I feel like I've been dead for three days."

Jesus is Risen!

Postby crusader88 » Sun Apr 04, 2010 8:39 pm

Before my Const. Law class begins, we always have time for announcements. Last Tuesday, someone noted the approach of Easter. "Ah, Easter," the prof replied, "when Jesus rose from the dead," lifting his hand in a gesture. "Why yes, that's only the most important event in the history of the world!!" he concluded, taking time to catch his breath.

A joyous Easter to all!
...you must begin a reading program immediately so that you may understand the crises of our age... Begin with the late Romans, including Boethius, of course. Then you should dip rather extensively into early Medieval. You may skip the Renaissance and the Enlightenment. That is mostly dangerous propaganda. Now that I think of it, you had better skip the Romantics and the Victorians too. For the contemporary period, you should study some selected comic books.

-Ignatius J. Reilly, in John Kennedy Toole's A Confederacy of Dunces, 1960s
