If you met a young boy, (who reminded you of when you where his age), what advice would you give him?
Naruto Fanfic: Kokoro of Konoha by Sailor Dove

What is the power of the weak and the weakness of power?

What would the butterfly effects be with an OC with no chakra or ninja inclinations but a coveted special sensing ability? But that's not her only closely guarded secret. Psst, don't tell the hyper blond boy she hates ramen.

1) An optical occurence due to our seeing through the various layers of the atmosphere. The sky appears to be more dark when viewing less atmosphere rather than more. It is similar to "why is water blue." Technically, it isn't really but that's just light, for you.
2) No. Someday. I hope.
3) Actually, answered this one on my last post on page 1.
4) Vidya games and writing. Trying to do less idle internetting. I spend too much of my life doing that.

Mm. Actually, it isn't an optical illusion, it really is blue. It's a semantics thing; what do you mean by 'the sky'. The air isn't blue, but the sky is a collective effect. Blue light scatters more easily than the other colors, ping-ponging around molecules in the atmosphere before reaching us, so effectively what we are seeing is a humongous number of molecules being lit up with blue light. If that didn't happen, we would have a white sun in a pitch-black sky just like on the moon during the lunar day, no matter how thick the atmosphere.

Your answer was an the right track though. Sparser atmosphere = fewer molecules = less scattering. It's also why we get other pretty colors at sunset. The light travels at an angle that radically increases the length of its trip through the atmosphere, such that the scattering of the longer wave-lengths finally reaches the point we can see the other colors.

Believe it or not, in my Electromagnetic Physics II class, this was one of two questions that made up the entire final exam. Dr. MacFarlane was nice enough to hint at the beginning, "Back up all your answers with full calculations." In other words, he didn't mean just give the answer, he meant do the math and show why it's blue and not some other color. I was one of the few that got more than half credit on this problem: I had the right verbal explanation and my calculations were headed the right way, but I didn't have sufficient refractive data handy to get the (very nasty) optical calculations to work out.

The other question? Don't remember, although IIRC the calculations required Bessel Functions.

1) Neil Gaiman, Alistair Begg, Robert Jordan (And by extension, Brandon Sanderson), Audrey Niffenegger, Ravi Zacharias. My choices might have changed since you last asked.

2) Fox. I don't feel any particular kinship, but I've loved them since I was a wee Etoh.

3) Don't have one, shockingly. Which ones I've seen I've appreciated all of them, and I loved Ten but I think it would be a discredit to the works of the others to say he was my favorite.

1) Do you know how to dance?
1a) If yes, what types dances do you know?

2) If you had the power to stop time, what would you choose to do while time was on "pause"?

3) If a fire alarm went off for real and you had 30-60 seconds to take only a few things out of your home, what would they be?

1) Nope. Hate dancing, hate dances. Not for religious reasons. Just hate 'em.

2) Evil evil things. I've actually thought about this very question in great length at various times in my life. Man, I'd have so much fun.

3) Oooh, man, fast burning fire. Probably my laptop and my note books with my story ideas.

Nope... I had a dog that died three years back. Mom and Dad have got a new dog, but I haven't lived with them since she was a few months old. Cool dog, but she's got training problems that make me glad I don't have a dog right now in my life. I'd like to get my aquarium going again, but fish aren't really pets. Keeping fish is more akin to tending a plant.

1) Nope, but I attempted the Viola in the fifth grade and the flute in the 6th. Attempted the guitar much later.

2) That's a really good question *think, think, thinkthink, think....* Uhm... *ponder ponder...* I think Simon from Gurren Lagann and I would have a lot in common. I think the main guy from Haruhi and I would have kind of an old soldier's camraderie in regards to our respective ladies. There are some disturbing similarities between my wife and Haruhi. >.>
