Decently, I guess. I'm terrible with math. Thankfully the exam is being graded on a curve and we can get partial credit.

My hardest exam was my Biblical Backgrounds exam. We had to fill out five maps, write the name of each of the 15 Biblical periods, give the date for each period, give a description for each period, give Biblical sources for each period, and then write an essay on God's Eternal Plan.

I think I had Carpel Tunnel at the end of the exam.

Yeah, so this was just a Freshman class. I can't imagine how hard future classes and finals will be!

I finished my finals today; I did pretty good on them, especially considering how two of my professors were awful, and another gave us 5-10 pages to write every week from a two-hour lab, whose final I took today. (The fourth prof was great, BTW.) It was a pretty rough quarter, but I survived!

Next Fall, I'll be taking IBL(Interpreting Biblical Languages) and one of the professors makes the student write 24-40 pages for their Exegetical paper! This is why I'm choosing the professor that makes them write 8-12 pages for their paper.

Let's see, my classes are...Acting, Tae Kwon Do, Art Design Basics, American Lit., Japanese 101, and Criminal Justice. Only the former two classes' finals are done, though. 8(

You think that is bad, my girlfriend had to write five papers that had to be about 15 to 20 pages long and then one final one that was a 50 page paper.

Well, seeing as I'm just in high school, I haven't had to do much. So, no finals yet, and nothing I can really say. All I know for finals is that I have to make a Web site, a welding project (And I still have no idea what to do!), and a large final for Biology. English, there might be one, but I don't know. Either way, midterms are fine here.

I'm gonna create a pity-party here and explain what my History & Systems of Psychology final is going to be like.

Dr. Slaughter (Yes that is her name... and random sidenote: She plays Farmville on Facebook a lot) is going to pick one of these five topics at random:

1. Nature versus nurture
2. The relationship between the mind and the body
3. Rationalism versus empiricism
4. Determinism versus free will
5. Emotions – do we control them or do they control us?

Then we must write an in-class essay on it... starting from early Greek philosophy to modern-day Psychology, and then explain all the important figures of each idea, and then a conjecture on what is to come in the years to come.

And she's not going to hand out any As unless it's at least five pages...

My life sucks. =(

I just finished the most fun final I've ever had, which was a take-home final for Formal Languages and Parsing (basically advanced properties of regular and context-free languages and some grammars that aren't context-free). It's like a regular final, but being able to scour through journal articles was pretty neat. I've always found stumbling across cool CS and math papers to be the most interesting thing about doing homework in those classes.

I've still got two more: an oral final in Advanced Algorithms (a lot of randomized algorithms and ways to deal with NP-hardness and some dabbling in online algorithms) and a regular final on the 22nd (　´Д`) for Fields and Galois Theory (basically looking at fields that aren't finite (which we focused on in our ring theory course) and relating field theory and group theory).

I have to say that I love my final. Part of it was a written test and the other part was taken photos of models.

I finished the last test of an 18 credit semester and it feels beautiful. I go home tomorrow to an empty house, a Wii, and hopefully all seven Harry Potter books. Here are the classes I took this semester:

1) Theological Thinking
I flippin' loved this class and got an A- overall. I had to write a 7 page paper back in September and the final was my only comprehensive one.

2) Justice in a Pluralistic Society
I hated it at first, but then it ended up being okay. There was a 7 page paper due before Thanksgiving that I got an A- on, so I probably got an A- or an A overall.

3) Voice Lessons
Easy A, probably, but so much fun. No final.

4) Student Chaplain Class
Another easy A. No final.

5) Art of Film
Probably the only twice a week night class on campus, but it was pretty awesome. First I had to write a paper analyzing a scene from Psycho back at the start of the semester, then we had to keep up blog entries throughout the semester of the movies we watched. The final paper was 12 pages and I wrote it on Spirited Away. The final exam sucked and I don't think I did too well on that.

6) Literature of Women
4 books, three 5 page on three of the books papers, one 8 page paper, journal entries, and a final presentation on said paper. I got A's on basically all of those things, though, XD.

7) Studies in the Novel and Short Fiction
Probably the only 8:30 class I could never hate. 6 books, six 4-5 page papers on each book (but we had the option of basically writing fanfiction for each paper, which I did for 5/6 of them), and two presentations. I think I got an A in this class, too. I'm really sad that the prof is leaving, though, 'cause she's awesome and she won't be back for two years. But she says she's going to try to write fiction, so I'm totally buying her book when it comes out.

The number of papers I wrote this semester totals to 14 and the page total is a little under 79. Heheheh, good thing I'm a Writing major, otherwise I would've died quite a bit more than I did.

Next semester will be beautiful. I'm taking 13 credits.
1) Theological Themes in Children's Literature
This class will be awesome. Not only are five or six awesome people I know also taking it, but the subject matter is filled with win. I don't really know what we'll be reading yet, but I'm stoked.

2) Advanced Writing: Poetry
This class will also be awesome. It might even be easy. I love writing creatively for a grade. It's like getting paid to play video games.

3) Voice Lessons
This will continue in the win of this semester.

4) Computer Graphics
AKA Photoshop class

5) Writing Center Seminar
Working in the Writing Center is part of my major, so yeah.

All due TOMORROW; one almost done, one at the page limit but still 1600 words short, and one barely started.

Plus an exam on Tuesday for a subject that I've been skipping class for for the past 3 weeks to work on the projects for aforementioned papers. I went to recitation today and understood NOTHING. I have a 45/63 in that class right now, while the exam is worth 37 points, but I'm expecting to pretty much not make higher than a 25% on it.

Next week I have six finals I'm going to have to take down. Some will be a breeze, however. My hardest is no doubt, History & Systems.

-Already explained.

2. Physiological Psychology
-I guess just some studying will help.

3. Understanding Human Diversity
-Memorize 25 concepts? Haha. A breeze.

4. Psychology Colloquium
-A joke.

5. Group Dynamics
-Going to be rather challenging, especially since I can't stand the authors of my textbook.

6. Life of Christ
-Honestly, a really lame class. I'm not going to get an A because I paid little attention and well... didn't do the assigned readings. =\


My next semester will be just 15 credits, but that's because I'm taking my most difficult course ever.

1. Experimental Psychology - 42 Article Critiques and have to turn in a 30 page minimum paper (Ideal is approx 50) at the end of the semester, which is essentially a submission of an Experiment I must conduct. I formulate my own hypothesis, then my own method of testing and measurement, etc. This class will be awesome cause Dr. Slaughter is the best. Ever. Thankfully I can work with a partner, which would ideally cut down the workload in half.

2. Psychotherapy - Kinda self-explanatory. Examines different theories of counseling practices. CBT, Glassner's Reality Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, etc.

3. Intro To Lit (Haha). I'm taking this with an amazing professor who is not only very sociologically-oriented but also just totally scholarly. I can't wait. I did sign up for Major British Authors, but I don't think I'll have the time nor energy to dedicate to it if I'm taking Experimental. Besides, I can't understand a word that Chaucer writes.

4. Theater Appreciation - Cause I need to fill out this humanities elective. I like acting anyway.

5. Social Welfare Policy - A class on... policies of... social welfare. Yup. Lol.

Anyways! I'm so close to finishing everything. Here's what's gone down so far:

Wednesday: Critical Reading, Thinking, and Writing exam. I think I did alright on it, but I'm far more stoked about the 8 page paper I wrote that got an A-, in a class where the teacher claimed he wouldn't give A's unless he wished he'd written the paper himself. Score. XD

Thursday: Specialization reviews (SPR). As an illustration major, I have to go through a review a little less than halfway through my education at this university in order to continue to the next level of classes, based on whether or not I pass SPR. I'd spent the past several days preparing for this, finishing some projects and re-working others that needed to be redone. It was an immense process and a huge weight, but I went through the review at 10AM this morning and feel like I might even have a slight chance at passing! I'm stoked. XD

Also, took a British Literature exam that I feel good about, and got a 96 A on a paper I recently turned in. FTW.

Monday: I've got one more exam to take for my Fairy Tales and Heroic Quests class. It'll be pretty easy, as I've been really involved with the material. XD Additionally, I have to turn in four illustration projects, two of which are finished, one of which is almost complete (100 drawings of cats! It's awesome XD), and one that I have to work on this weekend. XD It's almost overrrrr!

I'm happy for those who just made it through the semester.. On the other hand, I'm hoping that I'll experience the same way too [maybe next year].. My subjects are totally making my head crack.. Calculus, Discrete Math, Physics, Programming, & Statics of Rigid Bodies.. Glad that we have this English subject with us cause it gives me enjoyment somehow..

Seriously. Read The Little Prince. It's one of the most profound children's book ever.
