Well, Korpiklaani is more folk metal than viking metal but ya Ensiferum and Korpiklaani
(they're hilarious... their drinking songs rock) are a couple of my favorite bands. Eluveitie is another favorite but their last album sucked!!!! It like totally dropped any metal influence and it's just like... folk rock music... but their first two album are great...

"Ensiferum" sound like they listened to a lot of Mike Oldfield in their youth. And a lot of '70's hard rock like Rush. Definitely some kickbutt ax-playing here. I may have to look for more from them.

Another Mike Oldfield reference]Tubular Bells[/I] album while listening to this. Sorry, I'm an old guy. My pop culture references are just very out of date.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

Have you heard of Turisas?

They're a pretty good viking metal band.

Also... not quite "viking metal" but similar sound just a different theme... But Alestorm is good... I'd guess you'd call them "Pirate metal" but they are quite awesome... (I found them a year or two ago when I was into Ensiferum a lot and stuff and Alestorm was recommended as something I may like)

Yep, I've been a Turisas fan for quite a while. And Alestorm's pirate metal is hilarious and awesome.

I recently found about a folk metal band called Primordial. From the little I've heard of them, they sound awesome.

Awesome. :D

As for viking metal, I discovered Amon Amarth a few years ago, and I immediately fell in love. It's a great band, and I definitely need to get an album.
