Any other silent backgroud people?

Postby Fio » Mon Aug 03, 2009 2:06 pm

Hey! I was wondering if there were other people here who have been a member of CAA for some time, yet have not become an active part of community?
I for example have been a member for over a year now (I was shocked as I realized that ^^' ) yet the total number of my posts is less than 20 and this is my very first thread.
So I thought, as a first step to becoming an active member I'd start a thread to find other people like me. So, (I really like this word ^^) If you have encountered the same problem post you're thoughts, if you have overcome the background syndrome post some tips, and if you're a newbie trying to get started, you can do it here.

Well, I'm kinda on and off periodically, so I don't know if that counts. I'm kind of a half-lurker. You'll notice I have around 350 posts but I joined all the way back in '05.

The thing is, posting on a web forum is actually a social activity, and so if you're not predisposed to being social all the time, you won't be. That's how I think it works, at least.

EDIT: 'So' is a great word, so people should use it more often.

Asdfjkl, I didn't you noticed you joined that long ago, Midori xDD; I thought you joined last year o____o;;

I've encountered a few other lurkers out there ^^ I'll admit that I did lurk on and off for a little bit when I first joined (I guess), but still pretty active ^^

I think you're actually taking a good first start here with even posting ^^ Just keep it up and keep posting little by little if not alot ^^ I'm sure you'll come out of your lurker mode soon enough :)

Anther good place to get out of lurker mode is in the chat ^__^ Some people lurk in the dark corners of chat, but you'll still get a feel of how everyone is here ^__^

Oh yeah, and welcome to CAA ^^ I hope you enjoy your stay here ^__^ Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, kk ^__^?

I recall being very much a lurker on the site when I first joined. So, you are not alone. ^_^
But, like Tsuki mentioned, the Chat is a great place to meet other members and help you become more active on the forums. ^_^ I think that's how I became more active, I believe. Because the more you know people on here, the more comfortable you'll feel posting in their threads, responding to their posts in other threads, etc...
Hoped this helped and glad you finally decided to come out from the background. ^__^
