What is your favourite work of fiction?

What are your favourite movies?

Favourite chewing gum?

You find yourself in the bottom of a well, and a fairy (as in one of the fairfolk) appear to you and says: "Hark, young Peregrine Scnook, where be thy potasium cynanide capsule for a quick death? I sure as hades will not help thee out of here!" What would your response be?

I'll be honest and admit that I'm not much of a reader. It takes a LOT for me to get hooked on a book. The last book that did that was an unpublished book sent to me by an Australian pen pal titled THE FIVE: DOOMSDAY MACHINE. It was so well-written and I got so into it that I stayed up until 3 am in the morning to finish it. I hear he was working on a follow-up, but I've since last contact with him. I think he stopped working on it due to personal reasons, which is a **** shame if you ask me.

My favourite movies include Aliens, Terminator 2, The Shawshank Redemption, Flight of the Navigator, The Iron Giant, Kung Fu Hustle, The Matrix, The Last Samurai, Spirited Away, Animalympics, Spider-man 2, X-men 2, Robocop, Predator, Labyrinth, Facing the Giants, Dinner with a Stranger, Drive, Drunken Master 2, Stephen King's IT, Gremlins, Tarzan (animated one done by Disney a couple of years back), Superman 2, The Dark Crystal, Mercy Streets.

I usually buy Stimorol or Orbit, any chewing gum that's basically approved by the South African Dental Association, cause I tend to use the gum at work after lunch (I can't brush my teeth at work). Dental hygiene is VERY important to me.

My response would be: "Who ya calling a Scnook?"

Alas, no (I know I know, I live in South Africa, for shame...)

Any felines (especially tigers). Also partial to wolves and wolf-type animals (german shepherds, huskies, etc). Others include bats, dolphins and chameleons.

Some of my favourite Animes include Animes dubbed in my home language from my childhood including Heidi, Nils Holgerson, Dogtanian and the 3 Muskehounds, Moomin, Pinochio, as well as many others I can't think of at the moment or don't know the English name of.
Robotech/Macross
Kimba the White Lion
Blackjack
Giant Robo
Dragonball Z (prefer the subbed version, which was actually the first subbed Anime I ever saw)
Bubblegum Crisis (original version)
Spirited Away
Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind
The Cat Returns
Candy Boy (even though this falls under the yuri category, I personally didn't see anything wrong with the series, actually found it quite heartwarming, because I saw it as the love between 2 sisters and not lesbian love)
Memories (liked all 3 stories)
Panda Go Panda
Sherlock Holmes (the series where they're all dogs)
Rider Bean Bandit
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Vampire Princess Miyu
First 4 seasons of Digimon
Tokyo Mew Mew
Love Hina
Dirty Pair Flash

Do you listen to Whackhead Simpson?

What would you do if someone strapped you to a chair and forced you to watch 24 hours of Barney - without any kind of break?

Have you ever gone an entire day without eating?

Do you think ducks look funny?

Yup, every morning as I'm driving to work. Also bought his last 2 CDs.

Well, apart from not being a big fan of Barney, I think being strapped to a chair to watch ANYTHING for 24 hours would be unhealthy. At first I'd comply, but after a couple of hours I'd fake having a seizure/fainting/etc. Hopefully they'd untie me, in which case I'd attempt my escape.

Not that I can recall no.

Yes, and cute. Me and my ex actually had a little grudge match going on which was cuter/funnier: Ducks or chickens. I personally think ducks are more amusing than chickens, but she disagreed (that wasn't the reason for our break up btw, just in case you were wondering).

2. Why haven't we heard anything from whoever played Bill in those movies?

I thought the second one was AWESOME. First one I liked, but it just wasn't as good as the second one for me (STATION).

Cause he wasn't in the Matrix.

I quite enjoy Stephen King's books, although I don't do that much reading overall.

Crikey, only one? Uhm... My all time favourite Anime, would have to be... Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind (although I recently saw it again and it didn't have as big an impact on me as it did when I was a child).

Street Fighter 2 (along with every other CapCom fighting game that's ever been released).

I would like to see more of Canada. I was there briefly (3 weeks) in December 2001. Beautiful place. Also Japan, and Australia.

Apart from the original? It's a toss up between Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, although Street Fighter 4 MAY look like it can be my new, all-time favourite (have only played 10 min of it so I can't honestly say).

And I know you didn't ask but I really dig the VS series of CapCom, especially the original X-men vs Street Fighter as well as CapCom vs SNK 2. I actually ordered SNK vs CapCom: SvC Chaos a while back without having played it before and I was rather disappointed by the lack in quality of the game.

I'm boring. Ryu and Ken for me, although I do enjoy playing with Sagat and Bison (the dictator) as well.

Wow. Haven't played that game in AGES. I've only really played Marvel vs CapCom 2 mind you. I usually chose Dr Doom, Cable and Magneto, cause they're all bad@$$€$.

Resident Evil (not that fond of it really), Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Caddilacs and Dinosaurs, Aliens vs Predator (that game ROCKED, Lt. Lynn Kurosawa <3<3<3), Rival Schools/Project Justice, all the Darkstalkers games, CapCom Fighting Jam/Evolution, Strider, Bionic Commando, Rockman 1 - 7, Megaman X 1 and 2, Captain Commando, Ninja Warriors... Those are all that come to mind at the moment.

Oh yes, definitely. Check out the new avatar to see my second favourite fighting game company ;-) Overall I'm a HUGE fan of fighting games, so I won't even begin to list what I've played. Rather ask and I'll tell you if I've heard of/played it.

Let's see:
Atari (owned, can't remember the make)
Spectrum (owned, can't remember the make)
NES/Famicom (owned)
GameBoy (have had it since 1991, perfect condition)
Sega Megadrive/Genesis (owned)
Super NES (owned)
Sega Saturn (owned)
Sega Dreamcast (owned)
Gameboy Colour (still own)
Gameboy Advance SP (still own)
Playstation 2 (my current gaming system)
Planning on getting an XBOX 360 sometime next year...

Yes! Love Disney. I still sometimes watch Disney Channel (but you didn't hear that from me, *coughcough*). I prefer the old-school 2D animated stuff more though (although I thought both WALL•E and Bolt were great films). Personally I think their last great 2D animated film was Tarzan. Amazing animation there.

Thanks! I've changed it though, so, sorry about that ^__^]rig@somethingorother.com[/email], because it's rather simple. For years my internet nick was (and still is in a lot of places), Rig.

Anyway, I can't remember EXACTLY how, but a year or two ago, either me or a friend randomly came up with the name Riggidig (personally I think I did, through just plain boredom), based on my nick (one of my ex work colleague's nicknames for me is Riggador, so I guess it maybe came from that).

You pronounce it "Rig - gee (the 'g' is pronounced like the 'g' in 'gums') - dig", only you say it rather fast.

1. Have you seen any of the Street Fighter anime?
2. Did you ever see that godawful Van Damme version of Street Fighter?
3. What about the Fatal Fury movies? (I've only seen the second one myself.)
4. Did you ever look at the actual source material for Tarzan?

For Rocklobster:

1. Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie was the first Anime that I rented from a video store (yes, we're very behind over here I know). Awesome film. Still don't know why I don't own it. I do own Street Fighter Alpha: The Movie, which is nowhere near as good as the original. I've seen bits and pieces of Street Fighter Alpha Generations, but I didn't like it. I know there's also the Street Fighter 2 V series, but I haven't seen much of it.

2. I have yes. I still watch reruns of it for a laugh (I can quote the whole speech that Van Damme gives to the soldiers, sad isn't it? :-P)

3. I've seen Fatal Fury: The Movie (the third one) in its totality. I've seen bits and pieces of the second one. Nothing of the first one. Don't know if it counts, but I've seen the 4 King of Fighters animated shorts that was released along with King of Fighters: Maximum Impact.

4. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by source material. I know they used skaters as a reference for when Tarzan was moving through the trees. Have also seen some of Glen Keanne's original drawings. The man's AWESOMELY talented.

For Lilac:

No. I'm an only child. This is very personal, but about 10 years before I was born my mother was pregnant, but she had to abort early on in the pregnancy due to complications. If it had survived I would have had an older brother.

1. Yup, both the original and the 2000 one.

2. Uuuh, American TV? I've seen LOOOOOOTS of American shows. We practically only have American programs over here in SA. Prison Break, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Smallville, Burn Notice, Chuck... all those shows are popular here. Naming ALL the American stuff I've seen would take.... years. I will say that my first memories are of the A-Team, Knight Rider, Airwolf, McGuyver, Duck Tales, Gummi Bears and Transformers, to name but a few :-)

3. Honestly, there are VERY FEW local programs I truely enjoy. Then again, I don't watch that many TV shows overall. There are a couple of local shows I enjoy watching, but some are just really poor. We have selected genres, and obviously not as big budgets for shows like you guys have in the States (mostly comedy, soaps and variety programs).

4. I can speak English (obviously), as well as my home language, Afrikaans. I can speak a LITTLE BIT of German, cause my mom can. I'd like to learn to speak it properly someday.

Interesting...
"Ridgy-didge" is actually Aussie slang for genuine, so I thought yours might have been a variation of that, but said the same. But it's not.
Amusingly, a few years ago I was doing a digital electronics group project, and we named our project "Rigidig" (pronounced like ridgy-didge) because we are Australian and the project is digital - ha, get it? (Even though there were two Aussie-born, an Asian, and a South African-born...)

That's rather interesting W4C. Thanks for sharing :-) I have a couple of Aussie friends online but none of them have mentioned this to be before.

Btw, your location description doesn't have anything to do with the Azaria Chamberlain story does it?
