Going through Saints Row 2 again, this time I made my guy look like The Joker...and used the cheats. Unlimited clip and ammo, unable to die...and a UFO. Oh yeah.

Kirby Super Star Ultra. Man, I love that game....especially with the bonus games (it was a favorite of mine on the SNES) :-D
I'm also trying my hand back at Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japanese), but, ugh!

Chrono Trigger for DS. 'Tis awesome. I'm up to the 1st battle with Magus already.

This marks the 3rd translation of Chrono Trigger I've played. The original 1995 Ted Woolsey translation, the Chrono Compendium fan-translation, and now the 2008 DS remake. The Ted Woolsey translation will always be my favorite of the three. He put such creativity into the script, without damaging the game or story much at all. If you're looking for a word-for-word translation, however, look no further than the Chrono Compendium's masterpiece. They did such a thorough job, you forget it's a fan translation at times; although it gets a bit engrish-y in places. The Nintendo DS remake fixes all that, though. In an age where Nintendo has finally relaxed much of it's censorship policy, the game comes through in it's true form. A masterpiece in itself, not to replace the Ted Woolsey work, but to bring Chrono Trigger to a wider audience.

Unless I'm mistaken, Ted Woolsey's translation will be available via WiiWare soon, meaning that his wonderfully artistic effort will be brought to a new generation. All in all, Chrono Trigger is truly a masterpiece of gaming history, no matter the translation.

Mostly Pikmin, Brain Age, and Advance Wars....with some Mario Clash, Red Alert, and Wario Land on the Virtual Boy thrown in. I've tried Gyromite with my R.O.B., but I need an even surface.....and he needs to stop dropping those gyros!

A friend brought Star Wars the Force Unleashed for the wii to the Christmas party today.

Talk about a power trip. I can't decide which was more fun, crunching up an AT-ST into a ball the size of tie fighter or filleting a handful of rancors with my lightsaber. Way too much fun.

Lost Odyssey, then Farcry and Facry 2 followed by perhaps Dead Space and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

I'm playing The World Ends With You, and you know what?

I hate it.

Ihateithateithateithateithateithateit!!

I hate its cardboard cutout characters that I am *somehow* supposed to grow attached to, I hate the stupid, repetitive DDR music, and I hate the boring, bloated, simple plot that thinks it's just so great, it's gonna dedicate the next 20 minutes to telling you EVERY SINGLE LITTLE UNIMPORTANT DETAIL ABOUT EVERY CHARACTER, PLACE, AND TREND. OH I HATE THE TRENDS, TOO. And I hate that there's no autosave.

And the worst part? The combat is really, really, really fun.

So I have to sit through an hour of mind-numbing banter just to FIGHT SOMETHING.

I want to punch every character in this game through the mouth.

Professor Layton and the Curios Village. I love it! I don't think its a game most would like but if you love logic puzzles and mystery, GET THIS GAME!!!! Basically you're trying to solve a mystery about a dead rich guy who left his fortune to whoever finds his Golden Apple. But the mystery gets a lot deeper as you go a long. The game is progressed by helping people figure out logic puzzles.

My one complaint I guess would be you don't really work on the mystery itself. That part is done for you as you're progressing the story. Its not like you actually have to work the case out yourself. You figure out a puzzle for someone and the story progresses on its own or tells you basically where to go next. Would have liked it if you got to use your brain a little bit more in the story itself rather than just random logic puzzles people in the town can't figure out.

I'm playing through LBP again to get more of the Prize Bubbles that I missed before (with the help of a strategy guide - thank you, Bradygames!) and building a level based on The Navidson Record in Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves.

Wario Land 3

Wario Land is one of my favorite handheld franchises, and it's a shame WarioWare is more popular or we might have had Wario Land 5 and 6. And they would have been awesome. Anyway, defeated all the games, but doing perfect runs on them, finding all the treasures, bosses, secret levels, etc. This means in this one I'm going to need all the music coins, something I'm really gritting my teeth over since I hate them and hate finding them and the reward is a lame impossible minigolf course. It's still a good game though.

So I had so much fun with Professor Layton, I went out and bought a similar game. Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I actually think I like this better than Layton in that, the puzzles actually have to do with the story line. Extremely heavy on the dialog though. Its like reading a comic book (looks like a comic book too... not to mention you play the game holding the DS like a book).

I'm playing Animal Crossing: City Folk. It's a great game, and there are a few new features that keep me addicted to it, like the other Animal Crossing games before it. For one, it's easier to fish, catch bugs, etc. Also, I like the new "Pro Design" clothes creation system at the Able Sisters, where you can design not just the front of a shirt, but the back and sleeves of the shirt, too.

Also, I'm playing The Movies. It's a very underrated game by Peter Molyneux, who did Fable and Black and White, among other terrific games. The Movies is a typical business simulation game, but you're in show business. It's simple, yet very fun. Also, this game is perfect for creating films, and people have used it for machinima. It's sad that a lot of people haven't even heard of The Movies, because it's a great game.
