Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot): Fall and Winter EP

Does anyone else plan on picking this up? I am enjoying it greatly. The two EPs are acoustic/folk albums. Anyone? Anyone? Don't miss it...it's really quite good.

I bought the downloads the moment I heard Jon Foreman was doing a solo project! I love Jon Foreman and I love Switchfoot. I think both him and his bandmates are amazing.

I'd have to agree with you I enjoy his acoustic songs though I was a little disappointed, some songs seemed to blend into another.

The lyrics was his one saving grace in this though like on his Fall EP, the song: The Moon Is a Magnet: "love is a sadness/love is a madness/we are the addicts/what are we if we're not in love" This in my mind sums up those of us who jump into love blindly like if we aren't in love than what are good for? Yet, we don't realize that love isn't just about 'loving' the fact you're in a relationship with somebody. It's about caring for that person wholeheartedly. We tend to throw our love around and not think about it at all, who it will affect, who it will hurt, even just by saying I love you. Those words are strong but they mean nothing if you have no intention of keeping them. In other words, don't say I love you unless you mean it! At least that's how I interrupt this song :)

His Winter EP is awesome. I loved every song I heard from it. I hope that he continues with this solo effort but only if you stays with his band Switchfoot! :D

Yeah. I wasn't too disappointed by the music because honestly, it's acoustic, so it shouldn't be excessively busy. I think lyrically either The Cure for Pain or Somebody's Baby are my favorites on the whole project. I know he'll stay with Switchfoot, though. This is just a side project. I'm glad he did it. I like these songs a lot. I can't wait for Spring and Summer.

Yes, I agree but there should still be something to distinguish one song from the other. On his Fall EP I kept thinking "Is this a new song? Or is this the same song I was just listening too!" :) On his Winter EP though every song had it's own sound to me and didn't blend as much as on his fall EP!

I know! I wish he'd leak a track or two from his Spring and Summer EP. ^__^

GUYS did you pick up the spring and summer EP's yet?

I have to say I LOVE the entire project. Its just breathtaking. Especially when listening to all four at the same time.

I have seasonal affective disorder (which was some of the inspiration jon foreman had to do these albums) and I can definitely see where he is getting at with the sad songs being on fall and winter and the happier songs on spring and summer.

Man I cannot get enough of these EP's. I think everyone should go pick them up.

My favorites on fall and winter are like kkun the cure for the pain and somebody's baby (cried the first time I listened) but I also really like Learning how to die.

My favourites on spring and summer are Your love is strong, Resurrect me and instead of a show.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot to make a thread for Spring and Summer.

I love Spring and Summer, probably more than Fall and Winter. Some of my favorites from these two discs are Instead of a Show, Resurrect Me, The House of God Forever and most of all, even if it's been around since Oh! Gravity came out, Revenge. Revenge is probably one of the finest songs ever written. I adore that one in particular, but the entire project is phenomenal. Excellent stuff.

I've enjoyed Spring, Winter, and Fall. I think that my favorites are "Somebody's Baby" (AMAZING SONG!) and Learning How To Die.
