any reviews on here for Elite beat agents?

Postby firestorm » Mon May 05, 2008 12:45 pm

hery everyone I was just wondering if there were any reviews on here for Elite beat agents because I got the game but then i saw that there was a rating of E 10+ for Cartoon Violence, Crude humor, lyrics, and sugestive themes. Can anyone give me an example of this in game because I'm thinking of returning it if its really bad, or you can just give me a vague explanation of it if you want. I just want to know if it's good enough to keep without dishonoring God.

I am currently on my 4th draft of the script for Canvas! Canvas is a watercolor animated short about how everything declares of a Creator and how everything happens for a reason. If anyone would like to help by sending me resources on watercolor or animation it would be greatly appreciated!

I am also on my 1st draft of a short live-action Romcom called "Behind Every Good Man! Behind Every Good Man is about a Bride-to-be, Evelyn, who must stop her Mother-in-Law, Pamela, from living her dream wedding through Evelyn's. Along the way she learns what it means to be a Woman of Integrity today! If anyone wants to help let me know!

EBA is quite tame - don't worry about it. The worst thing I can think of is the one stage that features two spoiled rich girls (clearly intended to parody Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie) stranded on an island. Part of the cartoony "story" has them flirting with the island's animals to get them to do all the work for them (finding food, etc.). There's a tiny bit of animated breast bouncing, but it's cartoony and not intended to be in the slightest way erotic. Trust me, it's nothing shocking at all. The most offensive aspect of the game to me is the lackluster song selection. Play it. Love it. Hope they make a sequel with better (and more) songs.

Oh, there's also the divas on the Hard Rock difficulty level. Their costumes leave a little to be desired, and some of their dance moves were probably enough to warrant the "suggestive themes" rating. But, hey. The game's rated E10, not T. It's nothing too serious. If you choose to use to use Commander Kahn instead of the lead diva, he still does the diva's dance moves. It's HILLARIOUS.

thanks for the help guys. It's a really fun game and I love both the single and the multiplayer aspect and fact that you can send a demo version of the game to other players ( I know it's only half a song but at least nintendo tried). i have never heardof any other Ds game do that I thought that was cool. Now I'm on hard mode in the game and enjoying it. Man is "September" tough!

They actually did make a sequel...in japan. BUT unfortunately, the new one has even more japanese references than the 1st one did. That and I dont think that whoever translated it for the U.S. will want to do what they did to the first one. It was pretty heavily referencing japanese stuff too,so they had to edit A LOT OF STUFF.Frankly they could have just made their own game with how much they supposedly changed. Not to mention the game didn't sell very well. So chances are to play it you'll have to import it, not that its a bad thing seeing as how the japanese songs are probably better fitting than the american ones.

Uh, you're talking as if Elite Beat Agents was an English translation of Ouendan. It wasn't. Elite Beat Agents is a completely different game from Ouendan. o.O

OHHH, i thought it was a translation, everything i heard made it sound that way. Especially since from videos they are essentially the same. Well then, maybe they aren't making a sequel...

Nintendo has said that they'd like to do a sequel to EBA with iNiS (the company who makes the Ouendan and EBA games), but it's up in the air. While sales were good, they weren't AS good as Nintendo had hoped.

I didn't even think sales of EBA were that good, especially since they were doing the Prince of persia move and packaging it with another game for $20 recently.

Well it sold 120,000 copies in 22 days, and while that's not astronomic, it's not bad. Reggie said they were hoping to sell 300,000 though, which is why while sales were good, they weren't as good as hoped.

And uh...that must be a local gaming store thing because they're not packaging EBA with anything else officially.

Must be, but after the prince of persia tragedy (where it sold so poorly that they packaged it with splinter cell to try and get copies of it out) I tend to assume packaging deals like that mean poor sales...but then again it could have been that they were packaging the others with EBA...idk.

That looks pretty awesome. I notice from one of the screenshots that the second stage is apparently Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven. So Looney Toons + excellent classic music + EBA/Ouendan style gameplay = win.

Unless they screw it up somehow by making irritating unresponsive controls. I hope I didn't jinx it. >.>

I share no such faith in the ability to make a good rythm game featuring TV show charcetrs. Of course, if it is good I will then buy it, and I will then shove my foot in my mouth.

How is making a rhythm game featuring TV show characters different from making a rhythm game featuring other characters?
