ESPN picks up...Battlebots?!

Honestly I have no clue why ESPN picked up Battlebots...it's kind of a weird thing to buy the rights to not because it isn't what they normally broadcast (ESPN broadcasts some rather weird "sports" every once and a while) but because it's been dead for 6 years...and it died because of poor ratings (though that was probably Comedy Centrals fault...). So why they would decide to broadcast it now is rather...odd...but hey I'm not complaining...in fact...I'm quite excited!

....Now if only they might show it on the local channels like ABC (considering their connected with ESPN in some way)....that would bring up the ratings....I'd so watch it.....

That would be nice...sadly, something like this happening looks unlikely...ABC tends to air the bigger sports not robotic competitions that have been dead for 6 years...

I also found an article with more details on the way the shows going to run:

I'm not surprised about the elimination of the Carmen Electra personalities interviewing people, however the elimination of wedges is interesting...I think this is only going to be for one category but if it's for the entire competition...then wow. I didn't consider it to be that much of a problem to be quite honest since most of the wedges weren't pure wedges (usually they had blades or something else on them...). But hey, the more destruction and sparks the better...

I also really enjoyed watching Battlebots. I loved seeing the ingenuity and dynamics teams put into their robots. That, and seeing the robots get hacked to pieces and set on fire was a factor also...
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Yeah...I don't know what it was...but there was just something strangely entertaining about watching teams spend all this time and money building one of them...only to have them be completely destroyed in the span of three minutes...

I used to watch this with my Grandfather. Wow... this is pretty interesting. I will be sure to check it out, when it starts to air!
