Metal Gear Solid Movie Pushes Forward

There have been a lot of video game movies in recent years of varying qualities, but one game that seems almost perfectly suited for the cinema experience is Konami's "Metal Gear Solid" and now that the writers strike is over, De Luca and Columbia Pictures can get back in gear (ha ha) and move forward with bringing the game to the big screen.

They'll probably get Keanu Reeves.

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most cinematic video game ever made...and out of all the games that I can think of is probably the only one that could translate into a really good movie...I hope...

I was thinking Sylvester Stalone personally...in all seriousness though, I agree with Ryan...of course this would probably mean that the Metal Gear Solid movie would have to be done in CGI but really...I can't imagine anyone else as Snake except David...

Now THAT, would be cool! A MGS Movie would totally Rock.I wonder if they would take a specific storyline from one of the games or mix them all up?

I'm personally hoping for some Final Fantasy: Spirits Within-level CG rather than live-action. I doubt it will happen, but it would, in my opinion, be the best way to make the fans happy, which is the only way this movie will do well.

I must see it. To be honest, I haven't played the games yet (go ahead and shoot me), but I plan to as soon as possible.

And yes, after hearing David Hayter, they MUST have David, or its going to be 25% less awesome.

Like everyone else has said, they have GOT to get David Hayter, or it will fail.

Also...another big thing that nobody's mentioned yet-- if Hideo Kojima isn't involved, then this movie has a 75% higher chance of being a total piece of crap.

Kojima pretty much already demanded that he be involved.

WHAT.

I repeat myself.

WHAT.

They can't do that. David Hayter IS Solid Snake.

@ShiHi: Tom Cruise can play Johnny Sasaki. Maybe. XD

They should at least give David Hayter a cameo - if not a shot at writing the screenplay (he did write the screenplay for X-men, after all).
