Top ten cartoons

Postby WrestlingOtaku » Fri Mar 07, 2008 10:34 pm

So, I was surfing Youtube when I found a video for the top 100 cartoons of all time. While it was a good list, I thought there was quite a bit wrong with it. Here's my top ten, since I don't think I even know 100 different cartoons... >.>

9. Inspector Gadget
8. Darkwing Duck
7. Animaniacs
6. X-men
5. Beast Wars
4. TMNT (1980's - 1990's)
3. Transformers (1980's)

I agree with everything that has been posted. I would like to contribute, but probably won't be able to remember any show titles until someone else posts it first.

In the order that I think of them:

Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics version)
Doug
Inspector Gadget
Batman: The Animated Series
Batman Beyond
TailSpin
TMNT
Spiderman (I watched two versions: one that was much older, and one from the 90s)
Pokemon (yes. XD)
Looney Tunes.

And if movies count...asdfjkalg. This will become the top 20 cartoons thread. XD

EDIT: Adding Johnny Quest for good measure. Eleven. B[

Lemme see. In no particular order, because I hate putting things like this in order:

- A Charlie Brown Christmas
- It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- Garfield in Paradise (for nostalgic reasons)
- Duck Amuck (you know, that Daffy Duck cartoon with the ever-changing scenery)
- Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century (the original short, not the CN show)
- Rabbit of Seville
- What's Opera, Doc?
- Bully for Bugs
- The Art of Skiing (Goofy cartoon)
- Rabbit Seasoning ("Would you like to shoot him here or wait 'til you get home?")

...Yeah, Looney Tunes pretty much dominated my list there. XD

1. Batman TAS
2. Justice League/Justice League Unlimited
3. Superman TAS
4. Batman Beyond
5. Exo-Squad (another series that way a head of its time)
6. Animaniacs
7. Invasion America (a series that not alot of people know about)
8. Gargoyles
9. Darkwing Duck
10. Johnny Quest (the 90's version)

Ones that I like, but are not in my top ten are Chip 'N Dale Rescue Ranger, Duck Tails and Tail Spin.

Because this thread is highly relevant to my life interests, you'll get more than a list.

Looney Tunes - Give a round of applause for the classics, people. After all, it's Duck Season.
Batman the Animates Series - Actually don't have too much history with the Batman comics. Then this show stepped in, and my childhood was 50% more awesome.
The Animaniacs - Blueprint for all good Saturday monring cartoons, or should be. What happened America?
Pinky and the Brain - Spin off of Animaniacs. Slapstick humor for the kids, political jabs for the adults, and good writing for all. Brain '08.
The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog - Never got a chance to catch the later adaption, so this'll have to stand. Still the only good video game turned television show.
Garfield and Friends - Does the impossible of making Garfield funny again. I am amazed.
The New Adventures of Johnny Quest - I prefer to walk around one-word answers, but "Hardcore" pretty much sums it up.
Doug - No, not the reboot, the original. Doug is a classy guy. Also, Mr. Dink wins at life.
Darkwing Duck - I am the terror that flaps in the night.
The Legend of Prince Valiant - In the deep recesses of my mind, I remember taping most of this show on a daily basis. Need to refresh my memory, so in the mean time it takes the bottom rung.

Also Arthur, Tail Spin, Duck Tails, and Inspector Gadget.

Ooh yeah, I rather liked Doug. I wish they'd put it out on DVD or something because I'd like to see it again.

I also thought Freakazoid! was brilliant, but I haven't seen any full episodes in a while so I didn't put it on the list.

Oh, and Garfield and Friends was one of my absolute favorite shows as a kid, but again, I haven't seen much of it since.

Freakazoid! and The Tic were two 90s cartoons I never caught during their television run. I'm currently taking steps to correct this.

1. Pokemon
2. Batman Beyond

4. Scooby-Doo
5. The Jetsons
6. The Flintstones
7. Arthur
8. Dragon Tales

YES! That was an amusing show. Hmm....

Quack Pack
Tale Spin(sp?)
Goof Troop
Darkwing Duck
Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers
Pinky and the Brain (wins for the "Brainy the Poo" episode)
I have to admit that I did enjoy Justice League, what few episodes I saw of it.

That's it for me. I had to browse the list to get that many.

This thread is now about the top twenty cartoons.

Continuing my original list.

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle - Why did no one namedrop this one before? I am appalled at all of you.
Tail Spin - Air pirates. When did the world ever need another reason?
Duck Tails - Two series with Launch Pad in them? My standards are slipping.
Chalk Zone - Think Harold's purple crayon with a dash of 90s awesomeness. One of the few Nicktoons down here.
Dexter's Laboratory - Genndy Tartakovsky can be hilarious when he wants to be.
Arthur - Good children's book gets an even better show.
Inspector Gadget - NEXT TIME GADGET. NEXT TIIIIME.
The Magic School Bus - As my Uncle Rushmore would say, Miss Frizzle is hard rocking.
Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show - Because a lot of grown ups sound like abstract bugle noises in real life. No, seriously.
Samurai Jack - Genndy Tartakovsky can also be awesome when he wants to be.

I'm younger than a lot of the other "Old school" crowd here, but I seem to have a better range of titles than most of them.

I would think that its, because you and me maybe the only two people that thought that show was funny.

Its not in my top ten list, but it would be in my top twenty. Me and my dad would watch it, when they showed the old reruns of it.

It was a big time childhood show for my dad.

Does anyone remember when the Jetsons met the Flintstones?? Back in the day, I thought that was just so EPIC! I mean, Fred Flintstone meets George Jetson.

In fact, I STILL think it's epic! Try finding THAT in anime!

I used to like Rocky and Bullwinkle, but I haven't seen it in probably 15 years or something.

I also was a huge fan of Dexter's Lab, but again, haven't seen it in a long time so I don't know if I'd still like it. (RELEASE IT ON DVD FOR CRYING OUT LOUD)

Hm...let's see...in no particular order:

Animaniacs - This is by far one of the best cartoons out there. It's wacky, it's zany, it's crazy...what more could you ask for? And the jabs at pop culture are great. :D
Teen Titans - When there's trouble, you know who to call...you do, right? XD
Bonkers - Waaahh...old favorite...why can't they just release it on DVD already?
Arthur - The original episodes were great...haven't really watched it nowadays, so I can't say anything about the newer episodes.
Looney Tunes - Of course, what list would be complete without this? :D
Pink Panther - What, no one mentioned this yet? I like it...and some of those episode bring back old memories...*sighs happily*
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - My gosh, to find an exceptional cartoon in today's world...it's getting pretty hard, you know?
Lilo and Stitch: the Series - Yeah, I was a Lilo and Stitch fan for a while, and I love collecting pins with Stitch on them. Is it too much to ask for Disney to release this one on DVD too?
Pokemon - Yes, this is the older series, and not the new Diamond/Pearl episodes. In my opinion, everything before the DP episodes was the best, even the newer stuff like Advanced Battle. Only thing is, this is a recent addition to my favorites, as this show wasn't allowed back then. Or, does this not count because it's anime? I hope not! I'm running out of ideas!!

And I'll think of a tenth one later...I've got class soon.
