Trillian Users

Is anyone else having trouble with YIM loading in there Trillian accounts? I downloaded YIM and got it running, but it refuses to load like normal with Trillian. MY AIM works fine, like normal. Just wondering if anyone else was having Trillian issues.

YIM won't work with Trillian. This has been going on for more than 2 months now.

I just logged in and out of YIM, so as of 2:40AM EST, no Trillian issues here, though I didn't try to message anyone, so if you're referring to that, then ignore this post. :O

I assume it'll start working again eventually.

Steve, your not alone.

I use Trillian for years and this is the first time that I had this problem as tonight.

It shows that yim has loaded, but non of my contacts show up.

I know Fish is also having problems with YIM too. I'm not sure if he uses Trillian or not.

Indeed he is a Trillian user.

Something like this is kinda normal (In my experience, at least) and happens every one or twice a month or so.

YIM won't work with Trillian. This has been going on for more than 2 months now.

It has always worked for me. Tonight is the first time it has acted up. Thankfully I see more then just little old me is dealing with it lol.

Looks like there is a Yahoo issue.

They just release 3.1.9.0

I'm going to wait and see if they fix the problem and wait for the Auto update should be ready by tomorrow morning.

Yeah, Trillian just started updating on mine. I will let everyone know if it starts working again.

Edit. The update refuses to actually download on my computer. It just closes Trillian. I am gonna try using Trillians site for a direct download.

I give up on Trillian. They are trying to load junk on my computer now, and it won't even load AIM. Anyone know of another IM program that can run a YIM and AIM account?

Trillian updates fine for me, and doesn't seem to be loading anything unexpected. It lost my list window height, but seems otherwise fine.

If you're running as a regular user, without write access to Trillian's installation directory, the update could fail.


If you're dead set on abandoning Trillian, Miranda IM would be another option.

Now it loads fine, and my friends lists won't load. I sign on Yahoo, and I know people are online. Ok. Another tech question. I just got YIM up and running and when I tried to do voice chat like I used to do on the old computer, I get a message "This computer does not support the required audio compression format" Is that Vista refusing to use my mic, or just some file I need to download?

That's happening to me too. I'm supposedly logged on to AIM and YIM, but only AIM names are shown as being online.

That's very odd.

About an two hours ago, I tried login in to YIM on trillian and it work and this with out the upgrade to 3.1.9.0.

I had to turn off Trillian for some window upgrades and anti virus upgrades. When I turn Trillian back on, the Auto update for 3.1.9.0 and I went ahead and upgraded it.

Trillian is loading all of my IM programs with no problems.

I'm not sure why it the new update would be giving others problems.

I don't know what happened, but when I logged on this morning, everything logged in completely normally.
