Years after I first encounterd it in fansub format, someone finally decided to legally distribute subs of the entire "Cat's Eye" series. (This is old-school even in comparison to DBZ!) I'm now getting to see episodes that I never saw before! Happy! Very Happy!

My favorite one to revisit is 'Patlabor'. I never seem to get tired of it, even though I know the entire arc by heart. Every couple months, I find myself watching at least a few episodes again.

Area 88, oh that good ol' Area 88. Not the 2004 TV show, but the old school 80's OAV. So good!

Only somewhat. Series like DBZ, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh... I can hardly stand to watch a few minutes of them now, and it hasn't even been that many years. On the other hand, it was kind of fun pulling out my Samurai Champloo DVD and watching some of the fights again.

Would watching an old Anime series that I never was able to watch fully when I was young count? I'm currently starting with Cardcaptor Sakura which I only saw a few episodes of on Cartoon Network, which was torn apart by the dub with over 100 episodes being cut out. x_x So it's like re-watching a series I always wanted to see.

But because I grew up during the surge of Anime becoming more mainstream, I don't really have any "old" memories unless Digimon and Pokemon count. And I will admit I still like Digimon today. (Needs to rent the DVD's soon...)

Because Pokemon wasn't initially allowed in my house, I enjoy catching an episode of it every now and then. It's fun, and I love hearing how all the different Pokemon sound. I like one of the episodes on Toonami Jet Stream now called 'No Big Woop'. If you'd like, you can catch it before they take it off. Its feature Pokemon is wooper. ^.^

You know, I did feel a twitch of nostalgia when I was watching the EARLIER episodes of Pokemon! I found myself thinking "THIS is how Pokemon should be, if it must be done at all!" The older episodes were actually kinda funny--much more so than the newer ones....

And no, I'm not going to mention how the new version of Ash sounds like puberty hit him head on with a Mack truck--I've beat that dead horse enough!

Oh yeah, I hate Ash's new voice. As someone who watched Pokemon since I was way younger, the new Ash is IRRITATING!

I also like to watch Gatchaman's uncut version. I saw Battle of the Planets before and it's terrible.

Oh yeah, pokemon was my first anime that I watched. I personally think they should have just stopped after season 5. Season 1 was the best, season 2 was good, and season 3-5 were okay. But after Misty left I just never did like the show much anymore. She was your annoying orange haired, somewhat lovable, and kind person. I sorta had a crush on her. After that I had a crush on number 18 from DBZ. But then Krillen(SP?) had to go marry her. Yeah I like to watch the DBZ. I don't care if people think it gets tiresome and annoying because I don't, sorry UC. *Begs for forgiveness.* Sometimes I like to go back and watch DNangel sometimes. Its not oldschool but its been a while since I finished the show. And I like to go back into the Case Closed files and watch old episodes of it. I wonder when season 6 is coming out. Anybody know?

@ Alexander- So Cardcaptor Sakura was on toonami. I thought it was because I remember seeing an anime with a girl and some type of staff. Its been so long! I liked it, but then they took it off the air.

Also did anybody watch Tenchi Muyo off of Toonami. It was a while ago. At the time I may have been 9-11 years old. And also anybody remember Hamtaro! Yes your favorite hamster. I liked to watch the show, sorry but I liked it.

EDIT: @ ilikegir33- Geez you just had to get here first about having a crush on Misty. I wanted to be first. Ha well noone mentioned anything about number 18 so im in the clear!

I was a Sailor Moon gal myself. I recorded all the episodes on tape and I'd watch them over and over. My parents even got me this awesome shirt that had all the inner senshi on it(Mercury, Venus, Moon, Mars, Jupiter) and I would put that shirt on and watch my tapes. Then I wore the shirt to school. This kid made fun of me and it made me very sad.

Anyway, I love going back and watching the Japanese episodes. I can only stand watching three minutes of the dub.

My girlfriend wasn't allowed to watch Sailor Moon when it was on the air. It was one of my "gateway anime" so we rented the third season on DVD and went through that. It looks even more ridiculous when compared to the newer shows, but the nostalgia alone was worth it.

I still watch Sailormoon now, from time to time. Like DBZ for many of you, Sailormoon is one I can't share with many people... It's not exactly "good" (though it was certainly better than anything on TV at the time) but it has a certain charm, and the story would have been good if you took the fluff out (the filler episodes, the transformation sequences, the drawn out attack sequences, particularly her "healing" sequences)

The one that holds up the best is probably Akira... Now, I know many will argue with me, but whether you liked the story, the quality of Animation has few rivals, even (or especially?) today. Akira was a massive project involving many studios and it showed... The animation was smooth, and everything was detailed... It's also the closest you'll find in the anime world to Hard Science Fiction...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.
