Johnny Depp, Helena Bohnam Carter, and Alan Rickman? Good cast! :thumb: I've never seen the musical this is based on, but it does sound interesting.
K. Ayato: What happens if you press the small red button?

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

I heard about this a while ago. The conversation went something like this:

Person: I hear Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are making another movie.
Me: Another one? I mean, they're great and all and they work well together, but it's getting kind of old.
Person: It's something called..."Sweeney Todd"?
Me: I AM SO WATCHING THIS.

What a cast. Timothy Spall is a great actor, too (he's in The Last Samurai and A Series of Unfortunate Events).
And I *knew* Helena was going to be Mrs. Lovett <3 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408236/

And they'll be singing their own parts. If anyone wants to hear Johnny Depp singing a duet with Alan Rickman, get in line.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing this.

XD I've only ever heard a portion of a song from this play and I really don't know a lot about it, but I'm glad to see more Broadway shows coming to the movie theaters. I'm personally waiting for/hoping for a Wicked movie. :D

Sweeney Todd opened on Broadway back when I was in High School -- those friends of mine who saw it marveled at its overwrought set design (probably what caused it to close when it did) and blood... lots of blood...

And, of course, sweet, darling Angela Lansbury as the scheming Ms. Lovett...

Overall, a nice musical in a manner of speaking, what you'd get if you'd locked the cast of Hamlet in a room for two weeks with a hypoglycemic Sondheim. Good morality play for the postmodern era.

I've seen a couple regional productions. I don't know if Depp or Rickman can sing, but if they can, watch out. Todd is a great venue for actors who eat scenery.

I'm so there. How this escaped my attention is beyond me. I've always wanted to see this show perormed, but now I don't have to wait until I luckily fid out about one in my area.

Very nice.

Johnny Depp.

I really want to see this if it's not R-rated. I have listened to the musical over and over again.
