Zip file questions

Postby Jaltus-bot » Wed Aug 29, 2007 3:15 pm

Does Windows Vista have winzip?

If a computer does not have a working zip program like winzip on it, can a good program for making zip files be downloaded? What programs are best?

Personally, I use WinAce: http://www.winace.com/, since it handles more than .zip files.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

7-zip is supposed to be really good, but I still use Winrar, and it handles everything I need it to.

I endore 7-zip.
It's open source.

And Vista does have a "Compressed Folders" feature built into Explorer, similar to previous Windows versions, for using zip files.
But I still like 7-zip as well.
Everywhere like such as, and MOES.
