What is your favorite love song?

Postby Alexander » Thu Jul 26, 2007 12:00 am

*sings* Oh how I love to be inspired to make these odd topics from odd inspirations.

Before I wrote all this five minutes ago, there wasn't a single love song written by anyone I enjoyed. UNTIL! I came upon, by chance, a single random youtube search to find the song, McDonald's Girl.

The song was simply about a boy who met a girl who worked at McDonald's and fell in love with her. But what I love so much about the song is, that basically explains the kind of girl I'm attracted to. Normal and very down to earth. And for some reason I couldn't stop smiling listening to it.

So then, what about you?

All I can think of with that name is Ray Stevens' "Stuck on you." Look it up.

Seriously, hmm... I've written a couple, but Chicago's "You're the Inspiration" is a pretty good one.

*counts off fingers*

Sanctus Real's "Alone"
The Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris"
Showbread's "Oh! Emetephobia."
Kids In The Way's "Phoenix With A Heartache"
Haste The Day's "The Perfect Night"
Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles"
subseven's "Hold On"

But I would have to say "Stay With You" by The Goo Goo Dolls is my current favorite.

Although the best version of that song was recorded by Pearl Jam (ironically a band I dislike).

Dir en grey - Itoshisa ha Fuhai Nitsuki (not a happy love song, but love nonetheless)

Heh. Mithrandir thinks he's out of touch. My favorite love song by a wide margin is "Standchen" (Serenade) by Franz Schubert.

If you need to have a more modern vintage, though, I love "Reunion" by Yoko Kanno. If you don't recognize it, that's because it's from her serious (concert hall) work, not her Anime or J-pop stuff.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

Largo: "Well Ed, good to see ya. Guess I gotta beat the crap out of you now."

Jamie Hyneman: "It's just another lovely day at the bomb range. Birds are singing, rabbits are hopping about, and soon there's going to be a big explosion."
