Yes I have been waiting for this review and I have to say it is a very good review. I love this quote.
The synopsis I just gave doesn't even begin to give you an idea of what AIR is really about. Honestly, it's nearly impossible for me to condense this anime into a few paragraphs. What I gave there is merely a hint of AIR.
It is true it very hard to describe in very short words.
This is one of my favorite anime of all times.

Thank you Mangafanatic for the review.

Nice review, however with out touching on the basis of it starting as a card game or the H-game which explains far more then the anime did it lacks a few things. However, still nice to see a review for it as it was indeed a nice series. I love Key/Visual Arts character designs. Always have since the day I played Kanon for the PC.

If I understand you correctly, do you feel it's necessary that I add some information about the anime's beginning as an H-game? I can do that, if you feel it's necessary, but I really figure the anime is based on the all ages version of the game which was released later (because-- obvious, there's not really anything Hentai about this anime.

However, still nice to see a review for it as it was indeed a nice series. I love Key/Visual Arts character designs. Always have since the day I played Kanon for the PC.

You are most welcome! I'm so glad that another fan of the show approves of the review.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. Is the story line as tight and intricute as most other Key games?

A character concludes that, because misfortune befalls her, there cannot be a God.

I don't mean to go off topic, start a debate, or anything. However, this line of thinking always disgusts me in how illogical it is. It would be the same as thinking that since my car has run out of gas, there is no car.

*Instantly thinks of the hundreds of "spoon" jokes*

Personally, I probably will stay away from this series because of it being produced by a H-game creating company. I don't mean to put down Key or anything, but I've had bad experiences.

I know its illogical and probably am missing out, but I have already loosened one chain around my neck and still fight to keep it off.

The opener made me get all excited! I guess things strike us all in different ways.

I probably should have pointed out that the character sort of changes her tune shortly after this revelation due to a series of events, but considering they all worship at temples and they talk about the worship of winged beings, I figure it's pretty safe to say that the god this character worships DOESN'T exist. But the line could be taken to apply to all God's, er, whatever. :)

All thing are lawful, but not all things are profittable. With that said, to each his own. I would like to reiterate that there's nothing erotic about this anime. Furthermore, the game that it was based on has an all ages version, but, if you still think it would be a stumbling block, flee it like the plague.

Mangafanatic is right, Air has got to be one of the cleanest animes I ever seen. Which is amazing to me considering it is based on a Hentai game. However! I just thought I should warn everyone that if you look for official art for this series you are going to find plenty of inappropriate pics. Most of the image galleries I've visited only put the clean pics up, but I made the mistake of looking at pics of the whole artbook together, and there was tons of nudity (this is an artbook for the TV series too so don't think you are safe if you just avoid the game).

I'm not saying don't watch Air, but I just wanted to give everyone the heads up before they stumble across something they don't want to see. :)

Another rather clean show, at least from what I remember, was Kanon... Kanon is also based on a game that has both H and non H varieties... Of course, I guess the whole cousin thing would sorta override the "clean" part for some people, but nothing ever happens there, so it didn't bug me.

I don't even know what air is about... It's based on a dating sim, that should probably tell me something...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

Oh, yeah! I completely agree with Myrrlynn's statement. Searching for AIR art is very risky business. Ye be warned!

And, Bob, it's really amazing how little romance is in this anime, based on a dating sim. I mean, it's obvious that a couple people are in love with eachother, but it's very subtle and, many people argue, isn't even romantic at all but is rather a VERY strong friendship bond. While I can't quite agree with those people, I say all this just to mention that this anime isn't some sappy girl show. Yeah, that took way too many words to say, but, oh well!
