The Infamous Pokemon Episode

The real heart of CAA; discuss specific series, issues, and things related to anime here.

I think they cut out "Beauty and the Beach" for a scene with James of Team Rocket in a ladies swimsuit. Fanservice in a kid's show? How weird!
I saw the Porygon episode and I didn't have a seizure. But some other people did. I hear that's why they say something like this at the beginning of anime aimed at kids/teens nowadays:
"Keep your room brightly lit and don't sit too close to the tv".
(Sometimes ADV and other companies translate these warnings. For example: Kaleido Star and Papuwa)

I think I'll continue this...

Yeah, I remember that when watching Kaleido Star. I think it was in something else I saw but I can't remember what it was...but still, it's just amazing how one episode of a TV series can cause such a drastic change in the anime and game industry, you know?

I watched the porygon episode. It was... Ok. I think the versions I've watched have been altered so the flashing wouldn't have the same reaction. I really liked all the things Porygon could do... Too bad that didnt' extend to he show. I wonder if the porygon upgrade in later games ever showed up in the anime?

Oh, man, that episode cracked me up... I'm sorry...

And how on earth could you consider James in a woman's swimsuit with fake anatomy to be FANSERVICE? It was just James doing something stupid, to try to gain something deceitfully, and getting foiled like he ALWAYS does... I don't think this episode was dropped in Japan, only in the US, because the connotations of James wearing the fake breasts was too much... Let's ignore the fact James is constantly crossdressing through the whole series.

Yeah I was watching Kaleido Star and before the opening theme they have a voice actor announcing to do that very thing. At first I thought it was just something weird for the show but I guess it does have a purpose...not that I ever followed their advice. XD

They do in my opinion. But Papuwa's warnings go full speed ahead, with the snail saying things like "Don't set anything on fire" or "Don't blow up the television".

Nope, none of the Porygon evolutions have ever appeared in the show, probably because of the stigma surrounding the original pokemon
