Well, at least now I don't have to pity you anymore.

The problem, anime wise at least, is that they aren't going to GET those ratings WITHOUT paying more attention to such things. Consider: Adult Swim's biggest anime success story has been Cowboy Bebop, which still blows most TV animation out of the water (especially action oriented ones)

KhakiBlueSocks wrote:Agreed. Cowboy Bebop brought Adult Swim a lot of new viewers and it became their official introduction to "REAL" anime outside the "MON's" (Digimon, Pokemon, and Monster Rancher.)

ChristianKitsune wrote:I think this has been brought up...but could it be the fact that they hardly even run commercials for anime, other than on the anime time slots? I mean...how are the comedy people gonna get interested if all they think anime is is Pokemon and Digimon?
I think many people associate anime with those two shows, which are definately oriented for children...:/

Anyway, It's a rarity when I see and advertisement for an anime on Adult Swim, short of Shin-Chan. Once upon a time, AS used to air commericals for Bebop and Inuyasha non-stop...now, the only anime commercials I see on CN in general is Pokemon and Naruto.
ChristianKitsune wrote:ANYWAYS. I know what you mean... is Pokemon doing well on CN? They are sure are advertising it like it is...
I think that it's obvious that CN airs commercials for stuff that is doing well... especially in the anime department.. I am pretty sure that Naruto is doing quite swimmingly...

Eureka 7 isn't exactly Star Trek, Khaki. You're not going to see three additional seasons and 10 film adaptions.
That was a bad example, Khaki.
KeybladeWarrior wrote:You seem to miss the first part of what Khaki said. He said Star Trek was not a smash hit then but now it is. So it may be possible that Eureka 7 will become some smash hit one day. Khaki does know alot about Star Trek.
To be honest. That was not a bad example. I thought Evangelion would be some flop and look how it turned out in the US.
KhakiBlueSocks wrote:THis may be a bit off topic, but keep in mind that when the Original Star Trek came out, it wasn't a ratings smash either. Now look where there at: 10 Movies (With one on the way) and 4 seasons later, it's still pretty darn popular!
