Shattered Words, Scattered Thoughts: Journal Of Zarn Ishtare

Postby Zarn Ishtare » Thu Apr 19, 2007 1:29 am

I hate to break tradition and create a thread like this, but I have certain thoughts that I would really like to formalize, that I don't/can't express well in poems and such. I'm just going to let the thread explain itself, ok?

1. Entry: It's Time To Awake

Well, I've been going through my old poetry, trying to find worthy pieces to post in my other thread (The one most people know me from) and listening to Copeland.

I swear, Copeland's "Eat, Sleep, Repeat" is so conductive to my poetry; it just helps my thoughts flow. I think every poem I just posted in Caphony was inspired or helped along by ideas or songs from this album...it's cathartic in a quiet way, you know.

I'd like to explain what I'm currently feeling, even if it seems abit...well, I don't know. I won't judge myself, I suppose, I do that too much already.

I feel like I am standing on a mountain peak in wintertime as the snow-flakes fall around me. I feel like I'm reaching out for a mirage on that mountain, like wearing a crisp white shirt and staring out into the oblivion that is the winter mountain, afire with light reflected off the snow. It is fresh, it is cool, it is the Clean Mountain. But it is empty of color...it is empty of love. It's refreshing, but at the same time....It's lonely. I wish I could find a place that had elements of the Hurricane I usually dwell in and this Clean Mountain, but that may be wishful thinking.

Anyway, this is an interactive deal, so feel free to ask me questions, give your opinions on my style of writing, and other such things.
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself
Make me believe that you are whole

Hmmm...your veiw of a snowy peak was interesting, something I had never though of before. Being empty of color and love, yet still refreshing...

I do have one question out of curiousity, when you write(as in journaling), do you always write as if you are speaking to other person? I personally like this style of writing, it makes the reader feel more...included.
Anyways, great writing as always, Zarn.

Yeah, although usually I feel like I'm speaking to myself.

Entry 2: Crazy Stomp

So, I'm listening to Neil Young's "Into The Black", which is...unbelievable. I'm listening to a live version, and his body aids the song by smacking the guitar and stomping, and I am...transported, into a symbol world of blues and blacks, a shaman stomping out a primal beat...it amazes me. It is really inspiring me to write something, but I'm not really sure of what....

Although his new album title, "Living With War", sounds like something I'll include, writing wise.
