Zebesian Midnight (Super Metroid) by Vigilante is probably my favorite right now.
Also just about any piano remix by MC. (e.g. Chrono Cross Dream Shore Sonata, etc.)
Silent Ascent by Daniel Baranowsky (Perfect Dark) is a newer remix that I absolutely love.
FF3 - Death on the Snowfield and Metroid Bluebase Incidental by AmIEvil
KillerInstinctsEnhanced by Jared Hudson
Turok 2 Port of Adia Remix by JV (more for the original song than the remix, but if you haven't heard the original game music, it's worth checking out).
Super Metroid - The Galaxy Is At Peace by Dan Baranowsky is a piece with an orchestral feel to it. Listen now.

So, in summary:
Dan Baranowsky = Good
Super Metroid = Good
MC + Piano = Good

Oh! Zebesian Midnight! I forgot about that one! I likey that one. "The Galaxy is at Peace" is a good one, too...^^ I wish that the remixers experimented more with some of the music from Metroid - they have a tendency to remix that classic Brinstar theme a little too much...>.< Remixed perhaps as much as the Zeal theme?

I don't know about as much as the zeal theme, but I totally agree with you. Then again, Super Metroid has some of my favorite game music of all-time, and without a doubt the best musicin the series. So I guess in that respect the number of remixes for it are understandable, even if they are repetitive.

Ooooh, while that one has been remixed a lot, I was actually referring to the Brinster (Kraid) theme from Metroid 1. Sorry, I didn't make myself clear...^^;;;

At any rate, yes, I agree...SM had the best track of the series in my opinion. Metroid Prime's track was pretty good (more moody than anything else), and Fusion's was darn repetitive after a while. >.<

There was another Super Metroid mix that was good...tryin to think of its name...maybe it was "Four Little Metroids" but I don't think so. Heck, I can't remember if that's a Super Metroid mix or a Metroid 2 one...:P

I once filled a whole CD with music from that site. That's around 680MB worth.

And they're all in my WinAmp list. I have so many, I shouldn't list them.

BTW, my favourite artist/group would be Children of the Monkey Machine. Especially their Chrono Trigger Ocean Palace (Wave Breaker). Beautiful...

VGMix is also a good site (some stuff appears on both places).... I can't think of favoriates too much, but I've got several good ones from VGMix as well, one of my favs would have to be the Artifact of Power (in four movements) by "Unknown."

I'll have to dig through my MP3s and find some of the ones I really like and repost them later.

I've downloaded over 500 megs of music from this site. It's the best music I've come across in awhile. My thanks to Shiroi Hikari for starting this thread. I'd've never found this stuff without seeing this thread. :thumb:
One day an old man, Jesus and Moses were out playing golf. Moses hit the ball and it landed in a pond. Moses then raised his hands and parted the waters of the pond and struck his ball out from the bottom and walked out and the let the waters back down to normal. Jesus hit his ball and it landed in the same pond. So Jesus walked out onto the water. His ball floated up to the top and was then hit from atop the water to land on the green. The old man swung his club and hit his ball. It was headed for the same little pond but as it was about to splash down a frog appeared and swallowed the ball. At that same moment an eagle came down and snatched the frog. The eagle flew above course over to the green and dropped the frog next to the hole. The frog then spit the ball out into the hole for a hole-in-one. Jesus turned to the old man and said "Dad, if you don't quit doing that, we're not going to let you play with us anymore."

Yea OC Remix is awsome. Anything by kLuTz is just brilliant. But you just have too hear The Italian Plumber by M.S. Mehawich....great stuff. I don't know why but I'm just a nut for the classical remixes.

Lookie. Someone resurrected the OC thread!

No, I don't compose for OC, but I do want to maybe do a Bond remix (Goldeneye of course) someday I guess.

Just need to learn my way around the composition software first, and get some access to the labs. Won't happen till next semester (at the very least), but I AM taking another piano class, which will do nothing but help my composing skills.
