It's official: I pity the individual on fanfiction.net that wrote a twenty-five chapter Claire/Peter romance. What will really creep me out is if they continue on with the pairing after the recent twist. It was actually becoming pretty popular amongst the fan community shippers O_o

Also: YEE! Jessica's in control! Dude, she's so much less annoying.

Fanfiction is generally crap. There are rare exceptions, like Virgil's Aeneid.

Peter really is a good guy, isn't he? I'm starting to hold him in higher and higher esteem. He really cares about people, and I have to admire that. (At first I just thought of him as one of the characters, but now he stands out, IMO.)

I was surprised to hear there are fan fics for Heroes. I guess I shouldn't be, but it seems weird to me.

After this episode. Don't you wonder if all the people in Heroes have inherited their powers from their parents? Maybe Hiro's father and sister will return later to help him and the others with powers of their own. Look who was revealed as the real parents of the cheerleader and the husband and wife who the police were after and their child.

It had to start somewhere. There are old ones and new ones, but there will be more and more new ones showing up. There certainly seem to be a few older ones, but Claire is also quite a bit younger than all the other ones (I'd guess almost all other heroes are 25+). All this really means is that the genetic component to grant powers has a very good, or 100%, chance to be passed on to a child of two mutants (since we have two cases of this happening).

I find this quote really amusing. Probably because I never saw Peter and Claire as a couple, but they seemed to be too far apart in age.

Anyway, I've been really happy since Heroes came back. I like how each of the stories are going along, what with the nice twists.

My friend actually called who Claire's real father was before the episode came on. It was so funny when it turned out he was right.

But that pales in comparison to the annoyingness of her family's entire subplot which has absolutely NO bearing (or at least only bears superficially) on the greater story of the series (y'know, zOMG there's a bomb and it's Peter LOLOLOL), unless somehow Linderman is Hiro's dad like theorized on NBC's forums. (Yes, there are zanier theories out there, like Linderman = Future Peter or that Peter will become evil).

Fortunately, my two least favorite characters will meet in the next episode in what looks like a bloody confrontation. (That would be Nessica and Matt).

I called a week before the episode, my mom didn't believe, and it kind of felt good to say I told you so! :D

Its pretty interesting how everyone well the main characters are slowly becoming more and more connected.

Heros can't be THAT big of a ripoff of X-men. If it were so, I think Stan Lee would sue rather than agree to guest star in one of the episodes (next episode! w00t!)

Heros can't be THAT big of a ripoff of X-men. If it were so, I think Stan Lee would sue rather than agree to guest star in one of the episodes (next episode! w00t!)

Besides, at least it's a GOOD ripoff, unlike 'Mutant X' which ended up being sued by the company behind the X-Men movies *headdesk*

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutant_X_(television)

I also find it interesting that Heroes has yet to cross into the realm of physical mutations, unlike Marvel with the Morlocks and mutants like Beast/Toad/Mystique/Nightcrawler/Colossus/ect. Firstly there's budget concerns. But less obviously it means that the powers could still be attributed to psychic phenomena and that they are rooted in the brain. *shrugs*

In other news, the Claire/Peter shipping is continuing, even after the last episode. Fangirls scare me O_o
OK, first things first--
The saga of Claire Petrelli-Gordon-Bennet
CLAIRE: I want to know about my dad.
PYRO LADY: It's complicated.
CLAIRE: Real mom, I heard this last episode!... You said he would give us money, he'd help us?
PYRO LADY: Yeah, but *ahem*hesaslimypolitician*ahem he's not THAT helpful.
CLAIRE: Oh, so it's just the cliched "Dad is a powerful man who doesn't have time to condescend to people he screwed over fourteen years ago" type. For a moment I was worried he would be some kind of insecure man with the ability to fly or something like that.

Later....

NATHAN: So! Heh heh.
PYRO LADY: Heh heh.
NATHAN: I'm sorry I couldn't condescend to you earlier and that I screwed you over fourteen years ago.
PYRO LADY: That's fine. I'll take the money (*grab*). Oh, and here's a picture.
NATHAN: Wait, let me not look at it for a few seconds to get the audience on the edge of there seats. (pause). OK, let me look. (thoughtful stare). I wonder what I should tell Peter?

Then Claire throws a rock at Nathan's Cadillac. Yes, A ROCK. and he ignores it. And PYRO LADY lies about the amount of money.

Ando tries (and fails miserably) to be the "hero" this time. He mentions something about hanging on to or finding hope, and lo and behold, he finds a dancer/striper/hooker/whatever named Hope. (Never mind how he puts two and ni together to make four when going from Japanese to English). So he and Hiro get taken in by her sob story and Ando agrees to find that woman's pink bag that happens to be in the hotel room of a heavily armed thug. Did I mention that the hooker is connected to Linderman and our to Nihonjin are in Las Vegas again for some reason?

Ando separates from Hiro in his heroic quest and Hiro GASP! finds out that the hooker is a woman of ill repute in more ways then one! (And as pure fanservice to all the Trekkies out there, she calls Hiro "Sulu" before punching him out cold.) Ando liberates the bag, while Hiro languishes in a broom closet only to be arrested by the Gaming Comission.

And the clash of the two most annoying heroes ever. (Well, anti-heroes maybe). Matt is now a security guard, a 2.5, an imitation bacon if you will. He has to protect someone, this someone happens to be Linderman's liason who's been acting like a pr*ck to both DL and Nessica. He quickly finds out (thanks to TELEPATHY!) that the lawyer 1). Stole Linderman's $2 million and 2). is being set up. So Matt and his asthmatic charge run away and away and away from Jessica (again, thanks to his telepathy).
Matt mistakenly believes that Jessica has an accomplice (again thanks to his telepathy hearing Nikki) which makes him abandon her in handcuffs to find Nikki. He hears the asthmatic Linderman-Lawyer think something about where to put something (diamonds) and runs into Jessica who....... THROWS HIM OUT A TALL BUILDING....only to have a big sign stop his fall.
The Lawyer is now in two pieces on the floor where he last saw him.
When the cops arrive, Matt was going to help them find the diamonds and solve the case but instead he pockets the diamonds for himself when he hears the thoughts of another cop call him pathetic.
So there you have it. After a long track record of not being able to do anything right, Matt does something wrong and succeeds. BRA--VO, loser.
And Nessica's next target is Nathan Petrelli. And we all wonder why she couldn't become relevant to the greater plot sooner.

Mohinder has been spending the past several days while he had no screentime finding more mutants for his scientific pleasure. He finally gets a return call from some guy named Zane. When Zane opens his door, he finds....Sylar who assumes the person of Mohinder! (can't he tell the difference between voices?) Zane shows Sylar his power, then it cuts to another useless scene about Matt or Claire or Ando (but not Isaac or Peter, unfortunately).
When Mohinder finally arrives, Sylar pretends to be Zane. (again, the difference in voices?) Then we see that Zane's power was to liquify things. Mohinder asks for a DNA sample and Sylar, out of sight takes one from Zane's corpse and gives it to him. Then Gabriel Zane Sylar joins forces with Mohinder and the world descended into darkness.

BTW, Claire's fake mom is going nuts and forgetting all sorts of little things (and big things, like that stupid dog of hers), presumably because of all the memory wipes.

Next Week--Somebody flies, somebody dies.
Compared to Claire and Peter, (and even Isaac) Nathan is as slimy as one can get.

A lot of people on NBC's forums hated this episode but one small reason I may have liked it was because Matt and Nessica are now SLIGHTLY less annoying.

But Mohinder became an idiot overnight..?

Uh..is it odd that I don't mind Matt? I almost like him despite his wife. But perhaps it's the actor's Alias/Lost connections that won me over :/

ARGH! When will Hiro and Ando actually get somewhere and DO SOMETHING?!

I'm also endlessly amused by Sylar's habit of popping up, stealing powers and impersonating the victims. What next? Is he going to snafoo Claire's power and show up in a blonde wig and cheerleading uniform?

I think I've just mentally scarred myself O_O

I think Peter will be either killed off or conveniently de-powered in the distant future because (Western) superhero stories abhor overpowered characters. (Then there's Superman, but he has his weaknesses and is presently far less powerful than he used to be). God forbid that Peter and Sylar, after many months and encounters with other heroes get into one DBZ style confrontation after another.

And the fact they just became to powerful, it was just ridiculious about the amount of power they had.

Although I like DBz in the beginning, in its early days, however by the time we got towards the end of the Buu saga I was kind of done.

"Unexpected"
"Peter is the Most Overpowered Character Pt. 2"

BEWARE OF SYLAR IN ZANE'S CLOTHING:
Mohinder and Gabriel a.k.a. Sylar a.k.a. Zane travel to Montana in search of yet another superpowered freak. They discover a very mannish looking woman named Dale, who has super-hearing (apparently, only rap can suppress her powers, go figure). She comments that "Zane's" heart is racing.
Mohinder and "Zane" exchange some smarmy sentimental comments in their little subplot. Mohinder mentions something about developing an inhibitor for the super gene, which has "Zane" a little peeved. Oh, and he mentions something about his father, and how he was killed. And Mohinder is the dumbest smart person I know.
Well, as one may expect with Sylar and Supers, Dale ends up dead (not before Sylar mentions that his heartbeat is the sound of "murder"). Mohinder calls 911, but with Sylar a.k.a "Zane's" new ability, he stops Mohinder before he dialed the final 1. He says that the fuzz may be suspicious of them if they reveal how they knew Dale and why the came in the first place.
And Dale's iPod (PRODUCT PLACEMENT) was still playing while lying in a pool of blood.

THE HIROIC QUEST, CONTINUED
The Gaming Commission agent that found Hiro actually turns out to be a crook who wanted half of Hope the Hooker's bag. (Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself). Gaming Commision guy demand the bag from Hiro but Hiro says it is with Ando and Hope and gets the Commission guy to take him in his car.
Ando asks too many questions and Hope gets angry. It turns out that the pink bag is full of chips (you know, the casino kind, not the potato).
Hiro and Commission Guy catch up with Hope. A shootout ensues and Ando is wounded. Hiro comes to the rescue and they... hide in a bus? Soon, Hope points a gun at Hiro and fires. But time slows down and a moment later, Hope is being arrested and the two heroes emege unscathed (well, not Ando). The Nissan Versa (PRODUCT PLACEMENT) is also unscathed despite getting trashed earlier in the crossfire.
Hiro decides it is best if Ando go home. Exchange of sentimental dialogue in Japanese. Then Hiro boards a bus driven by Stan Lee and says he is going alone.

STARK RAVING MOM
MRS. B: I don't know my stupid dog and I don't know you!
CLAIRE: Lyle! Mom's acting crazy!
MRS. B: No, you're acting crazy. (Insert a bunch of lines that indicates she knows who Claire is).

Minutes later:

CLAIRE: Mom, I've been worrying about you.
MRS. B: Claire, don't worry I'm fi- (COLLAPSE)

Minutes later:

CLAIRE: Someone's been erasing Mom's memory.
DOCTOR: You're crazy.
HRG: You're crazy.
CLAIRE: You're a b@stard! You did this to her you jerk!
HRG: No, I'm a control freak who works for a shady organization. And you had better keep your mouth shut.

MAGNETO PARKMAN:
Radioactive Man has been on AIM [sarcasm]in search of fresh teenage flesh[/sarcasm] only to find Wireless a.k.a. Hana Gitelman whose superpower it is to send IM's without a computer (take that, Blackberry). They show each other their special "souvenir" scars care of HRG a.k.a Mr. Bennet.
Matt, like the idiot he is, has been taking out his diamonds and looking at them like the Yahoo that he is. He gets his cheating pregnant wife a $40,000 diamond ring. Wife finds out what he is up to and demands him to return the diamonds to the precinct. Then Matt gets a call from Radioactive Man.
Matt goes to a cemetary (which Radioactive Man defoliated thanks to his powers) where he meets Radioactive Man and Wireless. They all talk about how they were screwed over by HRG and their scars and how they were implanted with an isotope as a tracking device. (Matt doesn't buy it because Radioactive Man is, well, Radioactive). They are being catalogued like cattle and want to stop HRG from abusing the poor, helpless superhumans.

Just as HRG was mouthing some ridiculous nonsense about protecting his family, Matt and Friends assault his home.

SOMEBODY FLIES, SOMEBODY DIES
Peter and Claude continue their training. Well, Claude has been beating Peter with sticks in order to get him to try out some other powers. Peter stops Claude's strike telekinetically and breaks the stick. He says none of his friends have TK but the guy he stopped in Texas (a.k.a Sylar a.k.a. Gabriel a.k.a Mohinder Suresh a.k.a. Zane Taylor) did.
Isaac is still trying to find Peter using his powers but all he can tell is that Peter is invisible. HRG again mentions Claude whom he thought was dead. They give him a gun so he can "save the world." (Thanks a lot dude, way to repay the man who saved your adoptive daughter).
Peter and Claude have a conversations when suddenly, with the help of thermal imaging, HRG and the Haitian shoot Claude with a taser. Peter uses his TK to stop the taser from hitting himself and pushes Claude over the edge, only to fly him away from harm.
Claude accuses Peter of bringing HRG and the shady organization to screw him over (and shows Peter his nifty scar a la Matt, Radioactive and Wireless). He tells Peter that Isaac must be the one who was trying to bait them. Then Claude leaves.
Isaac is still jealous about Simone and Simone still thinks he's a loser. And she wants him to find Peter. Simone goes to Nathan for help and Nathan characteristically acts like a jerk and Simone says she will vote for "the other guy."
Isaac paints a picture of a very dark looking Peter. One second later, he sees Peter behind him looking as scary as the picture (IMO, maybe Peter deliberately imitated the picture to scare Isaac). Peter finds the scar on Isaac then beats the hell out of Isaac with his newly unleashed powers + invisibility. Isaac tries to shoot Peter but misses and kills Simone instead. The end.

Next Week: The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants attacks HRG!!

What fun. They killed off Simone just so they could have someone die and have it be nice and sad. "Tragedy! Get your tragedy here!"

I didn't like Simone, I certainly won't miss her, but dang that's stupid.
I think Hiro made a mistake having Ando go home. Ando seems to be the only thing keeping him grounded.
