With Valentine's Day getting closer, I thought I'd restart the favorite anime couples thread. Here are mine:

Maison Ikkoku, one of Japan's most influential mangaka's big hit manga that spawned a long running anime and various live action adaptations, is "unknown"? That's like saying calling Cardcaptor Sakura "a relatively obscure title ignored by the mainstream."

Aaaanyway, I'll bite.

Haruhi and Kyon. Because dominating tsunderes are my favorite type of girl and submissive but sarcastic uke-ish boys are my favorite type of guy.

Renton and Eureka - "Eureka Seven" -
(I like this relationship because it developed overtime, and the couple went through their highs and lows before finally coming together. I still remember that kiss!)

Ai and Hachimaki - "Planetes" -
(Much like the above couple, this one really developed over time, and kept you guessing. The last scene of the last episode...priceless.)


Yukino and Arima - "His and Her Circumstances" -
(I love the fact that you actually go into the psyche of both Yukino and Arima in this one. You know what each one is thinking and their thought processes.)

Nadia and Jean - "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" -
(Sweet little couple, but I just don't know if I would've put up with 1/2 the things Jean did...)

Keiichi and Belldandy - "Oh My Goddess!" -
(They just seem perfect for each other, and they both have traits that compliment each other. Not to mention, having a goddess for a GF has to have some perks!)


Sakura and Dokuro-chan - "Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan" -
(They would make a great couple, if Dokuro-Chan would just keep from killing Sakura...)[/SIZE][/font]

Haruhi and Kyon - Haruhi Suzumiya (I think this is the only couple I know that consists of two tsunderes. XD I love their dynamic.)
Ishida and Orihime - Bleach (Not much of an IchiRuki fan, but I think these two have something there.)
Dominic and Anemone - Eureka 7 (I love Renton/Eureka too, but I really wish this couple had gotten more screentime.)
Lawrence and Horo - Spice and Wolf (Never fails to make me squee. ^^)
Roy/Riza - FMA (They have such a wonderful understanding of each other, and her love for him is so selfless.)

I also like Haruhi/Tamaki from Ouran, Austria/Hungary from Hetalia, Hayate/Nagi from Hayate no Gotoku... I am really a shameless shipper <3

MorixHaruhi - this one is incredibly sweet, usually, if the author keeps them in character

Okay so I totally forgot about Kyou and Tohru from Fruits Basket, which I whole-heartedly support. And which is also canon. And rightfully so because Yuki is a lamewad.

I'm also sad to see one of my other favorite anime couples not mentioned, which was Mitsuki and Takuto from Full Moon. I wasn't so hot on it the first few episodes when I thought maybe Takuto was her dad but by the end when it became apparent he wasn't I was totally for it and was cheering for them to get together.

A note on that last one: I asked Johnny Yong Bosch (Ichigo's VA) last weekend about what his shipping for Ichigo would be. He actually did not know what a shipping was, so I had to explain it to him... "Ship? What's that?" But then he came to the conclusion that since Rukia's dead, he would choose Orihime for Ichigo. Having already been an Ichigo x Orihime fan, that one is now set in stone for me. (Although Uryu's VA chose Orihime for his character's best match too...)
