loven it

Postby valdrianth » Tue Jun 24, 2003 8:34 pm

I've love Fruits Basket. I've seen the entire episode and I can't wait for them to continue the series after episode 27. (26?). Because I want to see Rin out of the manga and on the anime. Rin's appearence kinda proves that Hatsuharu really isn't homosexual. For those who don't know I'm not gonna ruin that for you.

Kyou is definately my favorite character, though, I pretty much love all the characters. There is such an awesome character developement with the main characters, and despite how light hearted the series seems when it brings out the story line the grey egded start to show.

It's an all out worth wild series to watch. the DVDs are 40 bucks a piece..which may seem ridiculas if you didn't get 6-7 episodes per DVD. That 2 and half hours! My Samurai X OVA were 30 a piece and they were only 1 hour. Luckily Sam Goody always has sales, and I always have coupons!

even 30 dollars is too, much. you should buy online. its just that sometimes you have to buy a little more to still make it a better deal after shipping and handleing.

i mainly only go to the mall, like suncoast/sam goody if its a big release that i don't want to wait on. shop online. unless you happen to have a great specialty store near you. :sweat:

Yeah, the Fruits Basket dvds that I bought were $40 each. And I got those at Suncoast. I think the Best Buy ones are cheaper, but not by much. I get my boxed sets at Best Buy, and then single dvds at Suncoast, because they have a huge selection as opposed to Best Buy's 2 racks.

The selections at the BB & SC here are way different. BB has less series, but more dvds of each carried series, while BB has like the 1st 2 dvds of each series + tons of Box Sets ^^

Gotta love that series! Akito is my fave and my name was inspired by him! Kabin Shushi means Vase master and in episode 8 you'll know why he's the vase master!

Don't get :stressed: get :)

How could you like Akito? That episode was horribly sad, and I hated him after that!!
Anyway, always glad to see another Fruits Basket fan kicking around.

That ep made me like him, strangely :sweat:
But the sceen I know pretty much by heart!

Hatori: Kanna and I wish to be married (but all dreams must end)
Akito: No! I won't allow it! I refuse to allow it!
Hatori: *Bleed*
Akito: Hatori whats wrong!? Hatori...YOU DID THIS! This is your fault! If Hatori looses his sight it's your fault, It's your fault!
Shingure: Akitio! Hatori!
Akito: Do YOU think YOU can lift the Souma curse!? DO YOU?
Shingure: Kanna hurry take Hatori out of here!
Akito: Let go! Let me go! You can't lift the curse! We don't need you! Your worthless to us! It's your fault! It's your fault! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!

*Bows* Thank you :rock:

No kidding! I loved Momiji after that! We'd better be careful to not accidentally post any spoilers, though. (Laughs) what'd you think of Kagura? I about died laughing on episode 4.

Yeah, the episode with Kisa really shows how much insight Tohru really has for other people.

Yes the Kisa one was sad. He mom was so close to rejecting her :sniffle: And then when Yuki gave the speach about how you just want people to love and understand you....
Another one that hits you is when Hana confesses that she was a bit jelous over Yuki and the Souma's taking Tohru away and lo and behold POOF there she is at her door.

Another good one was the plumb on your back episode. Some of the things that Tohru said in that one really made me think.

Yah it did make you think. And I liked it when Kyou said "You have one too...." and it was like the 1st nice thing he said.

You think they're planning on making another series? I do hope so. There was so many unanswered questions that you wouldn't know unless you read the manga. Speaking of which, you think they'll translate that soon?

I do too! I wanna see Rin and Kureno! (rin=horse kureno=rooster) I *think* the reason why they were'nt added was because the anime started while the manga was still in print. As for when they are going to translate, I have not a clue...I hope soon. BTW here are pics and bio's of Rin and Kureno.

Image
Isuzu (known as "Rin") was Haru's girl until she mysteriously dumped him after leaving the hospital. Rin tends to be seen wearing very *ahem* revealing and sexy tight clothing. She also has extremely long, black/brown hair that she lets fall loosely.

She has some sort of connection to Hiro, since they're seen together... and another sort of connection to Shigure. Similar to how Kisa was, Akito somehow beat Rin up and put her into the hospital... =.=;
She seems to have dumped poor Haru because of the fact that she wants to protect him from Akito's wrath. So she secretly still watches him from afar... only because she still loves him. *awwww* ^^;

Image

Kureno is hidden away from everybody else and serves loyally by Akito's side. He appears to be around the same age as Shigure, Hatori and Ayame, but doesn't seem to associate himself with them.

By the looks of it, Kureno seems to have short light brown hair and wears normal/casual clothes.

One of the few times that Akito let him out, he bumps into Uo-chan at the grocery store she works at picking up some snacks! ^^; (vol.9 - ch. 50) When he bumped into her (he couldn't see over the pile of snacks he collected), he spilled all of the bags, and she starts to laugh at him! She said it reminded her of one of her friends (Tohru ^^; ) And Kureno notices and is just amazed how she can laugh so freely, and is attracted to her laugh and smile. ^^;

On another day, Uo-chan was on a lunch break from work and notices him walking around. He ends up treating her to lunch, and she gets mad at him for something he said carelessly. She storms off angry as hell... but Kureno catches up to her and apologizes. They talk for a bit, but then Kureno suddenly gets closer to her and looks into her eyes... as if he's about to kiss her... then thinks to himself "So this is what love is?" ...and goes away... leaving poor Uo-chan a bit shocked. ^^; (kawaii! XD)

yay! Just ordered the first dvd from Amazon.com. Just felt like sharing, since it was everyone's(well mostly Gypsy's good review of the anime that made me decide to check it out. I'd read some of the manga before, but hadn't ever checked out the anime.
Gypsy, I know there isn't an official manga translation, but I do know that there are a couple sites that are doing scanlations on the net. I'd have to do a search to find the links though. There's a site, http://www.noated.com, where you can search for manga translations.(hope it's ok to post this link) I think I found some Fruits Basket links on there one time.

Just wanted to share that I got my first Fruits Basket dvd in the mail today and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It made me laugh so much and I definitely want to see the rest of the anime, but I can't decide if I like Yuki or Kyo better. I'm sorta leanin towards Yuki, but Kyo makes me laugh. The episode with Kagura was hilarious.^^ The dvd seemed to follow pretty closely with what I remember of the first few chapters of the manga.

At first Yuki was my # 1 guy then I saw Akito in episode 8 and went :o "He's so awsome" and after the last DVD I like him even more. So here's my faves list

1. Akito
2. Yuki
3. Ayame

Watch out when you get the last DVD. Ritsu's dubbed voice makes nails over a chalk board sound good and make sure you have plenty of tissues.
