This was a very confusing story to follow. At first I thought it was going to be a straight forward detective type show about whether Shonen Bat was real, or a manifestation of the city's paranoia, and for the first 4 episodes it was. Then it took a bizzare twist and things got more and more surreal.

It also is a very good piece of dark comedy, if you like that sort of thing (I do). The episode where the three people are trying to commit suicide is incredibly funny even though you know it shouldn't be.
They never actually succeed, and it's rather touching sometimes how the older one keeps trying to make sure that the younger one lives.
In an earlier episode, a man is using a computer that depicts two boys a pornographic picture (showing above the waist).
This is a little misleading. The man is using a computer in a public library and leaves a pornographic picture of a woman on the screen when he leaves so that the two boys can see it.

There was one thing not mentioned in the review that might be fairly important in terms of content. Without giving away too much of a spoiler, one episode deals with a girl who has been spied on (in a perverted way) by her dad. Although there is no known physical abuse to the girl, she feels mentally/emotionally abused once she finds out about her dad's actions. In a previous episode we have already seen that the dad is a sicko, and this episode carries that trait a step further.

While the dad's actions are presented in a negative light, this particular episode deals with sensitive issues that could be distrubing to some viewers.

Otherwise, a good review, even though the series is pretty confusing.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Grey FM Downtown -- a mix of mainstream and Christian pop and rock music (Listen Now!)

More real stuff...

the reason I didn't put that in was because.... that part confused me! There are a LOT of things that could be taken different ways cause the series is so confusing

Having seen this show, it is very confusing, but it is certainly a great anime.

It is a great episode, but the question I have for you is this:
Or did they actually succeed?
