Marathons!

Postby eva-boy7985 » Thu May 12, 2005 11:59 am

So here's some questions:
1. How often do you get to have an anime marathon, in other words watching an entire series from start to finish is basically one sitting?
2. What was the most recent series that you marathoned?
3. Do you prefer to do them with a ton of friends, a couple of friends, or by yourself?
4. What kind of shows do you prefer to marathon, in other words, what genre (comedy, serious, drama, action, romance, etc.)

Just thought it'd be fun to get some thoughts on this! I've marathoned Steel Angel Kurumi (season 1), Rune Soldier, almost completely marathoned Love Hina and the movies, and I'm going to marathon Witch Hunter Robin tonight with a friend! Let me know your thoughts everyone!

a WHR marathon...I oughta try that...

Usually, if I pull a marathon it's several short series strung together. (i.e. Boogiepop Phantom, Blackjack and Hellsing.) I have not done this very often though, as I have school. (but not for long! bua ha ha ha) I do these usually by myself.

Or, a couple of movies, with all of the special features on the DVD.

I've done a Terminator movie marathon once...that was fun

1.) When I have the time for it, once every month or so.

2.) Hmm...I recently watched a bunch of Arc the Lad episodes in a row. That was fun. ^^ I love that series.

3.) I love watching them with a friend or two. We can always poke fun a the characters, discuss everything between episodes, and generally have tons of fun.

4.) I prefer to watch more serious stuff by myself because I really get into it and don't want to be interrupted. But if it's comedy, I can't watch it by myself! (Kind of like Azumanga Daioh)

I just bought Gundam Seed, and can't wait for Friday so I can plop myself down and watch all of it. I have no time for it on weekdays. @_@

1. When I REALLY like a series.
2. I haven't done a marathon in a while - I can't wait to find time to watch Tactics from start to finish. ^_^ I'll do me a Kyou Kara Maou marathon when I finish the series, too.
3. By myself, usually.
4. Anything, really. xD Doesn't matter, as long as I like it.

Not often.
2. What was the most recent series that you marathoned?
Giant Robo, Master of Mosquiton.
3. Do you prefer to do them with a ton of friends, a couple of friends, or by yourself?
Always alone. I don't hang out with many people.
4. What kind of shows do you prefer to marathon, in other words, what genre (comedy, serious, drama, action, romance, etc.)
Drama, but comedy is good too.

Dunno if this counts, but I watched The Cat Returns, xXx (Crap Vin Diesel flick), Princess Mononoke, and Nausicaa all pretty close together. My brain was then fried.

I've never been able to marathon any series. I've attempted a few, but after awhile, had to do something else.

If I sat and watched 26 episodes straight, I have too much time on my hands, and feel I wasted my day.

1. How often do you get to have an anime marathon, in other words watching an entire series from start to finish is basically one sitting?

Well I probably have a marathon and watch the majority of a series or mini marathon -about half of the series- every 2 to 3 months.

2. What was the most recent series that you marathoned

I think that it was Last Exile...Mini-marathon.

3. Do you prefer to do them with a ton of friends, a couple of friends, or by yourself?

I would like to do it with a couple of friends but I almost always do it alone.

4. What kind of shows do you prefer to marathon, in other words, what genre (comedy, serious, drama, action, romance, etc.)

Don't really care...Whatever series that I plan on watching is what gets watched (and my selection varies.)

The closest I've ever been to a marathon is watching 5-6 episodes in a row of any one series. No matter how much I love a series, watching in excess can get mind numbing. I mean, I tend to get bored watching more then that at one time. Plus, it makes me feel like I've wasted my whole day if I watched more then that.

Series I've watched 5 or so eps in a row are: Hajime no Ippo, GTO, Slam Dunk and Ayashi no Ceres
