GiTS:SAC confusion

Ok, I missed Thursdays episode of Ghost in the Sheel: Stand Alone Complex. Then I watched Saturday's which involved [spoiler]Section 9 being disbanded and thier members being hunted down[/spoiler]. What is the cause of that? I saw the episode where the Major kidnapped Serano posing as the Laughing Man. Is that what set it off? I was quite confused.

I think it was.It seemed to be internal politics at work.Obviously Section 9 was getting too uncomfortably close to whatever was behind it all.It will be interesting to see how things turn up in the second season which is called Ghost In The Shell:Second Gig.

I've missed the last three episodes unfortunately. But I have seen fansubs of 2nd Gig 1-21 and let me tell ya it gets alot more complicated and mysterious. Better though, a tighter story, much more exciting with less filler episodes, but there is a huge conspiracy deal going on.
