Somebody please help me...

Postby Shia Kyosuka » Wed Feb 28, 2007 8:53 am

Death Note was my most favorite anime ever, but now it's been spoiled... so much, I really don't want to watch it anymore.

Somebody give me another anime on this one's level to help me get over it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
But isn't there already a thread for that? I'm not sure why you had to start a thread on your experience with a spoiler...
I forgot about that thread. That's all. It happens. I'm human.
And for the last time, this thread is NOT about Death Note being spoiled. It's a suggestions thread. That is all, OK?
>_>
Don't give up your fandom based on somebody else's comments, you should make that decision for yourself.
And anyway, I'd need to know something more specific than "On this one's level" to prescribe anything.
What do you mean, don't give up my fandom?
Death Note's dead to me now. ._.
Just give me another anime that you feel can replace Death Note for me.
Oh, boo. You don't know anything about something being dead to you. Pretty much every other character I've liked in any Anime or Manga is either dead or marked for it. And if your enjoyment for the series hinged on one character, I wouldn't say you enjoyed it all that much to begin with, to be honest.
If you're looking for Anime, I'm afraid I can't recommend much; Death Note's kinda unique on that front. Manga? In some circles, they call him "Urasawa."
But you didn't hear that from me.
ROFL man. You think it's dead? No boy, you're dead wrong.
That's not the end, that's just the beginning. =p
Just keep reading. I was spoiled too. But even so, I continued, and it blew my mind away. The part after which was a spoiler to you only gets more awesome.
I don't read the manga.
I watch the anime. The anime's not there yet, and like, a certain person who's read the manga spoiled that for me, so I know about this before I should've.
I'd probably be more okay with it if I didn't figure this out by spoiler.
Watch Monster or something. Besides, who cares if it's spoiled? This somehow means you can't enjoy it? Of course you can.
Spoilers usually don't affect my enjoyment of a series. I've read/watched FullMetal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Hellsing, Death Note, 20th Century Boys, and Monster all knowing some details or facets of the plot ahead of time (in the case of Death Note and Monster, I saw their endings before I ever read page 1).
I'm a very different person.
I'm VERY anti-spoiler, and spoilers can affect the way I enjoy a series entirely.
At any rate, I don't see what's the big deal. :| Keep watching (psh, watching) or not, to me spoilers are nothing more than spilled milk at worst.
You're just being incredibly ridiculous now. Okay, so the middle of Death Note has been spoiled for you. BIG WHUP. It's not like the ending was spoiled for you.
So stop complaining and just finish Death Note. Just because <insert spoiler here> happened doesn't mean everything after that stinks. Besides, that's only the MIDDLE of the series. So you have no reason to say you won't enjoy it as much.
I'm not complaining, either. I simply said It can change the way I enjoy a series entirely.
I think I understand. I am very much the same way. I have a vendetta against spoilers. My friends have developed the habit of ensuring that I have seen/read the plotline before talking about it in my presence. They know that spoilers draw my wrath! >: (
However, I will strongly encourage you to continue reading anyways. Most of Death Note's best revelations are not in what happened, but how it happened. I hope that you haven't had that spoiled.
Also there is an entire second half for you to get involved in. Don't give up on it!
As far as similar anime goes... I don't think there is much in the way of anime. Manga and American graphic novels, yes. You should consider broadening your horizons and try reading something....
If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."
Yes, I suppose cutting off watching it any further would entirely change the way you enjoy a series.
I really don't mind about spoilers...in fact they usually want me to read them more.. XD take full moon wo sagashite for example. I found out the major spoiler in that...and I was like "WAH! I wanna know HOW it happens, and I wann SEE how it happens!"
Because people telling you and seeing for yourself is two different things for me.
so I guess this is a bit of an annoying complaint for me to read because I also don't see the big deal, or reasons to whine about it... It's just an anime, it's not like its the end of the world just because death note was ruined for you... ^^;
No offence...
That was one massive spoiler, though. >_>
but yeah, I see what you're saying. I guess I'll continue watching, then. :)
Shia, the thread title alone sounds very whiny, as does your OP...and if you saw the spoiler where I think you did...well, it was in a spoiler box. Suck it in and move on, bud.
On topic: I'm watching Mushishi right now and it's a beautiful series, especially if you're into Japanese mythology. :3
I honestly don't see what the big deal is either. I knew about that spoiler long before I ever finished reading the series and it didn't affect my opinion of it. But, yeah, look into Monster or something.
