yeah...digimon is known for it's Pizza topping Battles....MaloMyotismon was sorta eehhh...

Actually the FIRST battle with Myotismon was kinda confusing to me. There was so much going on, it would be easy to loose track. Parents in a hypnotic trance, the whole Wizardmon/Gatomon thing, the whole "Finding the 8th Child" thing with the others...good grief!

BTW, was I the only one who fell victim to the Fox Kids false hype over who was the 8th child? It was just TOO obvious in hindsight, but when it first came out, they made a big deal over who was this 8th Digi-destined. How could I have been so dumb?!

Back on subject:

There were a number of things wrong with the 02 "ending," one of which is the fact that their kids looked either generic or carbon copies of their parents.

Good point. If you notice, the new kids look just like the parent they're shot next to, but none of them really have traits of two Digi-destined. Example: If Takari [TK and Kari Paring] really did happen, wouldn't their kid favor both Kari and TK?

It depends.Of course because the way genetics actually work the kids could also have some passive or dormant traits that could have been passed on from either side.For example perhaps TK had the gene for red hair and Kari had the one for
green eyes and at least one of their children inherited both genes,then you would have a kid who had red hair and green eyes.

I don't know exactly if I figured out the 8th child thing. I was only about 8 years old. I think I either figured it out or was just kinds of "whatever" and let the story run. Even so, that 8th child thing is my favorite part of season 1.

Though it made sense it would be Kari since the only other sibling pair,Matt and TK,were also both Digi-Destined,so it seems that it runs in families.
