I'd say Heat Guy J. It's kind of like Cowboy Bebop lite, with a big robot.

I'd say...Bleach and Azumanga Daioh.
"That Man, born in That Day and also known by the alias This Guy or That Person, is well-known among ninja of the world for developing That Jutsu and his key role in That Incident. However, he should not be confused with That Man who is That Man but is not really That Man." -Uncylopedia.org, on the Naruto character That Man

It's a bit hard for me to find any feel good anime that isn't a kiddie title. With the exception of Yakitate, those titles of the sort that I encounter have ecchi. :( So I end up sticking it out with kiddie titles. But make no mistake; I love kiddie titles.

Well, Fruits Basket just makes me smile, so I'd suggest it as a nice "Pick me up" anime.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Uplifting Anime

Postby Geirr » Mon Jun 26, 2006 6:04 am

Just lo laugh: Azumanga Daioh & School Rumble are sweet and funny

I also found Narue no Sekai heartwarming, and Somedays Dreamers, althought that one is very SLOW. Glacially slow. (which is why it can be a restful change.)

Pani Poni Dash is the next 'Excel Saga' in terms of outright SPAZZ.

I would consider Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch to be a fun "pick-me-up" anime to watch in between the heavier ones. It's fun, though there's not a lot of substance to it, but pick-me-up anime don't need substance. XD It's a really fun series that I've enjoyed quite a bit so far! :)

I second Tenchi Muyo. DN Angel is also a good, cheerful story so far.

DNangel after finishing it this morning I am very happy about how it ended. Near the end it gets a little heavier on the emotions. Ok so it gets alot heavier specially through the Ice and Snow episodes (3 of my favirote anime eps ever)

Whisper of the Heart is also a good cheer-me-up. I'd also recommend My Neighbor Totoro even though that's really for the kiddies. But then, they did double bill it after that real tear-jerker Grave of the Fireflies to cheer everyone up after
all those kids die. or so I've been told.
