Slayers

What's the exact chronological order of the Slayers anime? There's 3 season of the tv series, 4 movies, an OVA (Excellent), Premium, and Book of Spells? I was just curious, as I may want to get into this show but don't know what to buy first. Let me know!

I'll try my hand at it, although I'm not completly sure about the pre-TV show stuff.

I think the (chronoligical) order is...

Excellent, Book of Spells, Slayers the motion picture, Return, Great, Gorgues, Slayers TV, Next, Premium, and Try
Jessie and James, together forever!

AAML forever!

Colorado is EVIL!! Save me!!

Eternal Defender of Tracey Sketchit. If you are a Brock lover, beware ^_^

"Like the moon over
the day, my genius and brawn
are lost on these fools"-Bowser, Super Mario RPG

Confused about the meaning of the screen name??

As far as the TV series, you've got Slayers, Slayers Next, then Slayers Try. I have NO clue how the OAVs/movies fit into any of this. Or even if they do at all. Could just be one of them alternate universe tales (like El-Hazard and Wanderers of El-Hazard).

I know the movies and OVA are supposed to predate the TV series.

Have you checked Anime News Network yet? I'm pretty sure they have dates for each series and when they aired. On another note, I really need to see this series as it is said to be a classic.

Dates that they aired wouldn't really help. I know that the TV series came out first, but all the Lina and Naga stuff in the OVA's takes place before the events in the TV series. Also, Premium was the last Slayers anime to be released, but it fits between Next in Try in the events.
