I really wanna see the whole series but.....I would like to know how many episodes there are/dvds or whatever. ^^;;; And I certainly can't afford to buy the whole series, so do you know of a good place to rent anime, that has a good variety of anime?

Thanx ^.^

There are several places where you can rent DVDs.Netflix is the most well known, but Animenation also has their own rental system.
I don't know how many episodes there are, then again I only have the one movie:
Big Trouble In Nekonron China.Currently there are over 30 volumes in the manga.

There are 7 seasons (7 box sets) to the TV series, 161 episodes in all

3 Movies: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China; Nihao, My Concubine and Team Ranma vs. The Legendary Phoenix.

11 OAVs.

This was the first anime title I started collecting and it took a number of years to finish it out. The manga run concludes next month with volume 36. At that point we will have just about everything Ranma 1/2 that we will ever have.

Watch it if you can, it is a lot of fun. I was only able to get up to season five, and I have not yet been able to finish it.
Well............ya

Hey Rev. Doc, just wondering if you know that for the English translation of the Ranma 1/2 manga volume 36 ends with Ranma and Akane talking about marriage?

I am just curious because the Chinese translation has 38 volumes. Could be due to the way the volumes are split in the Chinese translation though, however, just wanted to check. Thanks.

Ranma is also one of the first anime I collected. I have been collecting Ranma in anime, comic book, and manga/GN forms since they first started coming out. I will be sad to collect the last manga volume. Ranma has been an active part of my collecting for over ten years now and I'm not sure how to approach being done with the colleciton.

Then again, I have manga volumes 1-20 in comic book form. I guess I could always go back and collect the manga volumes. :)

Along with Inuyasha it was one of the first series I started to collect in manga form.
Also the movie was the fourth DVD I ever bought.
Hint:if you love pickles you'll love Big Trouble In Nekonron China.

Yes, it will have the attempted wedding at the end of volume 36.

The Japanese manga also had 38 volumes. Evidently Viz Media took some liberties with combining some earlier story arcs in different volumes and, when all is said and done, will only have 36 volumes.

It could be due to the fact that Viz first released Ranma in comic book format as opposed to the graphic novels we know today. That may have caused them to organize the GN releases differently. It could also be that Viz decided not to print certain stories.

You mean comic book format, as in the average 22-24 page that US comics usually come in? I didn't know that..

I think Dark Horse did the same thing originally with Ah!My Goddess.
