CAA Offline: Power outage today

Postby Mithrandir » Fri Dec 08, 2006 6:52 pm

Hi everyone,

Looks like the power went out in our area this afternoon. CAA was off-line for about 2.5 hours today. Let me know if you find any problems, OK?

Just FYI: We'll be going off-line again in a few minutes while I reboot again.

OK. The final restart has been completed. I've installed a new battery backup system for the server. According to the system specifications, The server can withstand a 25-30 minute power outage without going off-line. Of course, the other routers, etc might go offline, but we don't have to worry about data corruption.

I found a problem! It's been five days and I still cannot get in the chat. Link thinks it may be due to the server reboot, is this it? o.o

Actually, it's because the system isn't configured to auto-return people's chatting privileges, so you have to be manually reset. That apparently didn't happen for one reason or another. You should be able to enter the chat now.

UC is correct. BTW: All the routers are now on backup. When I get some spare time, I'll be moving everything to a more permanent I/F, but for now, business as usual.

Carry on, carry on.
