I personally recommend this book for anyone and everyone who has an
interest in the Civil War.Beginning with the 1860 election it chronicles what
life was like for the people of the Southeastern Virginian counties, especially
what is at the time Nansemond county.
I found it especially interesting to read as that was my paternal grandfather's
home county.
It really brought back what the reality of the War must have been like for
my gg grandparents.
Overall one of the best Civil War books out there.
