CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

It's Official! CAA's OFFICIAL FANTASY BOOK CLUB!

Anyone can Join. Annnnnyone! Your brother... your sister... your cat!... and most importantly you! (NOTE: YOU SHOULD [a.k.a "have to"] BE A CAA MEMBER... <.< )

We shall read each book over a course of two weeks (Time may increase/decrease according to members' time schedule's/ reading paces)

You may give suggestions for book selections. (NOTE: I will get all book selections approved by Ashley) Please PM all suggestions to me. If a book is controversial in content... i'd rather keep it in a PM conversation than thread arguments... I don't want this thread to get locked because of silly arguments... so i want to stop them before they start!

To join the club you may type something like "I'd like to join" etc. Don't be shy... we won't turn you away!



I will post a list of possible book selections for our first book selection. If you have a problem with any of the books listed you may PM me.

It was all genres, we read Eragon ( which is is Fantasy)

NOW! I am trying to find really good, not-so-known-about books.



The first one is a prime example of this:


THE SILVER CROWN by Robert C. O'Brien (you may be more familiar with his better known book: MRS. FRISBY AND THE RATS OF NIMH"

(THIS IS AWAITING ASHLEY's APPROVAL)


2 weeks to read this book! haha. If you need more time than this, please do not hesitate to PM me. I am also going to do something different from other book clubs. I will set markers of what chapters you can post about. for example... the first 2 days you could talk about the first 5 chapters or so.

This way it will be more a book club, than each of us giving a summary about the book at the end and saying if it was or was not a good book! ! **has experienced many bad book klubs in the past**Again... if you dont like this idea... PM me and we'll do something else. Im verrrry open to your guyses suggestions as this is MY first book club that i have ever started.

If you are afraid of someone revealing what happens in future chapters, here's one obvious thing you could do... NOT READ THE THREAD! lol. But what I think Ill do is make a big header for a certain Chapter (sequence of chapters) That you will easily see if you have read or not, so you can avoid it if you have not read it yet!



THE SILVER CROWN is a very original story. It is a little confusing at the beginning, but throughout the book the pieces start to fall together.

Augh! I have already read this book! It is very excellent. But I'll have to wait until the next book to join in! Sigh...

You could re-read it if you want and/or comment on the chapters to add to the discussion! If ya want to that is, you dont have to if you dont want to.

Yes. We will be discussing the chapters as we come to them. A more in-depth explanation will come later... and once we start doing it, it will become more clear.

Like i said before, I am trying to make this more of an actual "club" than the typical online ones in which people just read the entire book and do teh following 2 things:

1) Summarize the book
2) Rant on for about 3-4 paragraphs why or why not they thought the book was good.

I am trying to make this a more hands on thing, and you guys can express fears/hopes of things that will happen in future chapters, you can talk about character development, New conflicts, climax of the story, etc.

ARGH! WE WILL NOT be reading the SILVER CROWN on WEDNESDAY (this is what i get for being too hasty T_T). Ashley has still not yet approved it. I apologize to any of you who have already gotten the book.

We may have to change the first book choice and i will let you know what that is when Ashley gets back to me if we cannot indeed read THE SILVER CROWN.

Ok... THE SILVER CROWN has been scratched as the first choice of the Fantasy Book Club (srry guys T_T )... I will get back to you once a new approved book has been located. If you have any suggestions feel free to PM me.
