Yet another newbie!

Postby MyrrhLynn » Tue Jul 01, 2003 8:10 pm

"Newbie" I don't really like that word so much... it sounds like something 3rd graders would yell at each other as an insult... but maybe that's just me.

Anyway, yay I'm a newbie. All the people here seem really neat. It is really neat having a forum/web page for Christian Anime fans. I am looking forward to posting lots, and lots! ;)

Something third graders would yell? hmmm. :bang: I have no clue. oh well. Welcome to the boards...um, again. Welcomed you already in the Who's Who, but it doesn't hurt to say hello again, I guess.

Going for CS, you said in another thread, I believe?

Yes I am going for a computer science/business major. I don't like it so much though: JAVA is HARD!!! (I'm talking about the Java programming language not JavaScript.)

Cool. Where at?

Anyways, welcome to the board.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Ermmm... I have a couple of questions to answear here.
First:

Yes "Newbie" sounds like a 3rd grade taunt. Can't you picture it?
first kid: "You're a Newbie" :poke:
second kid: "NO! You're a Newbie" :poke:
first kid: "I said it first!"
second kid: "so?"
at the same time: "You cheat!"
at the same time: "Jinx, Jinx, personal Jinx"

Actually.... maybe that is more of a taunt that kids would use when I was in 3rd grade. (If newbie was a word back then.) I'm not sure if they use the Jinx saying anymore. :red:

what was the other question? Oh yeah "where at?" I assume you are talkin about where I go to school. I go to University of Wisconsin Whitewater. They claim they have one of the best tech programs in the country but frankly I'm not seeing it. :shady:
