One day in an art history class, the name "Eric the Red" was mentioned and I sat in my desk and thought, "That must be where that one CAAer got his username! Fascinating!"

Yeah, we were studying the Sutton Hoo viking burial ship at the time. XD

Ah, that does sort of make sense, I guess. Lots of neat art objects found there.

It should not be called a 'viking' burial (it's an Anglo-Saxon site and it predates the 'Viking Age'), but the A-S were cousins to the Norse, and the ship-burial was similar to several Norse ship-burials that have been found, so I can see how that connection would be made.

The franchise began a couple years after I stopped playing video games. I had to cut down on my addictions to make it through college! My kids have several FF titles though.
