That looks both visually interesting and like it might be well written, with a plot similar to previous Disney offerings (though its position in relation the films referenced at the beginning of the trailer will have to be determined after a full viewing... I'm still skeptical of Disney animation studios somewhat), and that hopefully will be a good thing.

I especially liked the aforementioned references to previous projects, taking them from gesture to line to final animation and the quality of the animation is undeniable... so I'm pretty happy to see what they have so far.

I've been excited about this film ever since I heard about it a couple months ago. I love how it's set in New Orleans! I just don't like the Prince dude in this one...O.o He looks kind of...er...off? XD I dunno...I just don't like him, haha. But oh well, I'll see the movie anyway! :D The art looks amazing, and I'm personally just happy they're getting into hand drawn films again...I don't think I can take anymore High school Musical movies..

On one hand, I'm happy to see Disney returning to 2D.

On the other hand, I'm still a huge skeptic. Who wouldn't be after the quality of their offerings over these past years?

At least the animation looks stunning.

I'm pretty excited about this. It will be awesome if this movie is on par with their previous 2D movies. I'm nostalgic now too.

While Disney's efforts at cell animation have been lacking over the past decade, they've actually done a very good job of getting their act together over the past five years to turn out an excellent product in other mediums such as live-action fantasy and computer generated animation. As a matter of fact, I am more excited about Disney's output now than I have ever been in my life, so I keep a close eye on it. Having again committed themselves to imaginative quality control, Disney has again realized that it is not their birthright to be the kings and queens of children's movies, but rather that they have to contend for their own status among increasingly savvy audiences. As such, this is a good time for company housecleaning and throwing out stale ideas that don't work anymore. In my judgment, then, this is the ideal moment for a return to quality in Disney's cell animation, so I wouldn't dismiss The Princess and the Frog just yet.

Well, I'm impressed thus far. XD I'm looking forward to this, skeptical as I am of anything Disney does these days. But a return to 2D animation is always welcome as far as I'm concerned. XD We'll see how it is story-wise, but the animation looks fantastic so far. XD

Looks like fun. The New Orleans angle is definitely an interesting turn, I wonder how they'll handle it.

And did anyone else notice the Swan Princess water swirl at 1:46?

Also: Baron Samedi as the villain. Hee hee.

XD I'm super excited about this movie, and I have been ever since I first heard about it like 2 years ago. XD

I just hope this isn't the last 2D animation we will be seeing... :/ I really really really missed it. 3D animation just doesn't seem as awesome as the 2D. I think it lacks the charm.

The first five minutes has made it's way onto youtube! Beware, it's a rough cut, and is NOT the finished product. Get it while you can!

I smell some John Goodman in there.

This is actually turning out pretty promising. I'll cautiously allow myself some enthusiasm for this now.

Is it just me or does the princess look like Jasmine with darker skin?

I think it's cool to see another 2d disney movie. And the 5 minute rough cut was pretty cool, too.

Aren't the first five minutes also available on the new Snow White release?
