Spider-Man Musical this Fall

[quote="ANN"]
Evan Rachel Wood revealed that the Spider-Man musical will open on Broadway in October in her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last Friday. She was on the show to promote The Wrestler, and Kimmel asked her about her upcoming role in the musical. “Yes, it opens in October with the director of Across the Universe, who did Lion King on Broadway,â€

Yes Mustang, because the one thing that keeps it from failing is the Spider-Man theme song.

This could either be really good....or really bad...
It's about on the same level of if they made the Matrix trilogy into a broadway musical...I think they could pull it off, they'd just need to make sure they had the right people on every level from actors to the directors and special effects....

This will still be better than Spider-man 3.

Seriously though, The Lion King musical was awesome, so this could have some potential. Even if it is an odd match.

Agree, and Sailor Moon and Bleach musical were hits in Japan. So, this could be a hit over here.

I just want to see them put the Spiderman TAS theme song in it somewhere.

Eh, I'm not all that surprised. After I found out they turned Legally Blonde AND Fight Club into musicals, I guess they'll give it anything a shot.

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA what a funny joke.

Actually, I would totally watch this.

But this really seems like the kind of thing that would only work in Japan...

Fight Club musical?

Unless this features truly awesome rock, and I mean TRULY awesome, Spiderman did nothing to deserve this.

Stephen Colbert better have a cameo.

Sohangonhangonhangonhangon...

...I thought Spider-Man 3 was a musical. Maybe it was a dream, I probably dozed off a couple of times, but I seem to recall dancing, and piano playing...

Hmm...maybe I was just dreaming, and that was why I hated the movie so much! Maybe I should give it a second ch--

...

...yeah, sure, musical, you say. Sounds great, whatever.

Wow.

I have nothing against musicals but this idea was doomed to failure before it even started.

...wait. Julie Taymor is directing? It might NOT be absolutely horrid. I'm fascinated by what that woman can do. I'll be interested to see how this ends up with her in charge; otherwise, I'm mostly skeptical. XD

EDIT:

o wait. Reading the newest posts in the thread is a good idea. XD

Oh well. No big loss, certainly! XD I'd have been interested to see what Julie Taymor would've done with that though!
