Question about laptops

Postby Sammy Boy » Sat Jan 24, 2009 6:10 am

Hi all, I actually know very little about computers, since I do very basic stuff at work and try not to spend any time outside of work thinking about computers ... :)

Therefore I believe many of you know more about computers than I do, and so I would like to find out if you could tell me what the main difference(s) is/are between Centrino 2 and Core 2 Duo, and which one I should choose when purchasing a laptop (i.e. in your mind, which one do you think is better)?

Thank you!

Isn't the Core 2 Duo faster than the Centrino 2?

(I probably shouldn't be joining this conversation; I don't use Intel, I use AMD. >_>)

According to Cnet, the centrino 2 is supposedly a core 2 duo chipset (not a processor) that features supports for fast ram and several other things. Being a chipset it CONTAINS a core 2 duo...sooo... question is sort of odder than expected.

Yeah, Centrino 2 is good and it's (likely) to mean it has a Core 2 processor. It's just a marketing label thing that Intel invented.
Celeron is the slower processor.
Everywhere like such as, and MOES.
