Well, here i go. i installed Debian, got some help from other people and
actually made it... work.

I'm posting this with w3m, and the forum looks really, really weird. all
text... no images... but hey, at least it loads fast :)

well, can't seem to load up X, and everything i tried with help of
other people doesn't seem to work. so, in all in all, chances are, i'll
finish downloading slackware and slap that on.

What happens with X? Are you getting a scrambled screen, or no screen at all?

don't worry, it's fixed now.

and i can wait to finish downloading slackware, and getting a new hard drive. as soon as that happens i'll be porting over completely (currently debian is installed in seperate 2GB drive, which when i finish installing slackware will be turned into FAT32 for all the file transfer needs) and live with linux, forever!

Seems like the long way around... But hey, whatever works!

Vive la linux!

Or would: Linux ga yoi desu, nee! be more appropriate here... ;)

Dunno, I'd have probably said "Linux wa" instead of "ga" ... paging native speakers!

i'm learning the hard way, the hard way of figuring out everything by myself if possible. and you know what? it's working :P just memorised the process required to bring up debian on my computer. and if rumors are true, everything will be easier on slackware, relative to the debian way, which debian is all nice and complex. which i somehow am quite attracted to...

Probably too late now, but SUSE is getting great reviews recently. Evidently they just got EAL3, not that most people (hopefully) here care. For more info...
