The problem is, it's an Apple.

No seriously, WindowsXP gives you the cuase of the problems, tells you which error occured where. And even gives you advice on what it was and how to fix it.

no... the problem was... pretty much self explanatory....

globe = network... plus you got a little handbook for troubleshooting dude... stop being so negative about things

I still have my Cube. ROFL, and when I didn't have internet or computer for 3 days while my laptop was being fixed. I refused to take out my Cube and use that for internt. I'd rather not even have internet than surf on a mac. My negative opinion. I can see why people like macs, they are very likable, but I cannot stand them.

Therefore I am sorry if I nitpick on every little detail I dispise about macs :(

::highfives Volt:: sorry MSP i dont like emn either.

Wow. Nice to see that the "Anti Mac" people are every bit as mature about it as the people they claim are simply "Anti Windows."

Aha! an iBook owner! *__* Tell me, how difficult is it for a Microsoft user to switch to a Macintosh computer? I'm highly considering buying an iBook soon. I just don't know how... easy it would be for me to convert.

......

IT WAS A CUBE VOLT... WHAT DO YOU EXPECT????? those things were stopped distributing like... a freakin WHILE ago

i mean if ya get a powerbook, that thing has like atleast 1.5 ghz processor.... dude... mac's don't NEED 2.8 ghz because OS X ISN'T A MEMORY NOR A SPEED HOG LIKE XP... most imacs have like a 2 ghz processor (G5)... and if ya wanted a powermac you could have dual 2.5 ghz processors (G5)

and what the crap are you saying "you are forced to use expose"... you can certainly turn that option off if you wished.

you need to know apples are'nt for gaming... sure there are a number of games for OS X... but that's not what it's main focus is on

and people always complain like "oh you can do a start>>run>> sorta thing"

may i present you... launchbar
http://www.obdev.at/products/launchbar/

can't right click? get a usb mouse... or always hold ctrl when clicking...

do some research... and you can customize your mac to be more efficient

sunako, i found the transition pretty easy actually. I had my desktop for over a year now, and when i bought my ibook around last november, i was pretty excited. It was easy to set up the networking, of course it took a while and i had to ask my fellow macexpert for some help and tips, which he helped me through quite well... ^^

if ya do get a mac and need help, me and oldphil and shooraijin (whereever he is) are here to help ^^

and if ya could, get a powerbook instead, they are more expensive, but better & faster

o.o; *makes notes out of what Volt said*

.......So... um... >__>; The keyboard.. it starts to smell weird after a while...? How strange...

o.o Ahh.... I see, I see. Which do you prefer interface-wise, though? >__> Like.. um... XD When I went to the computer lab in my high school and saw that that one room was dedicated to Apple computers, I decided to check it out. T__T I didn't like how it looked, I hated the mouse's arrow... However, the idea of not having to dance around those error messages and frequent crashing is quite appealing. *o*

You don't HAVE to press F11 to get to another window.... i mean the dock is pretty much a taskbar... and the object dock is pretty buggy too *has object dock as well*

odd that it doesn't play runescape... i don't think its the computer... but either the java app or something

macs are very customizable too.... (unix... hello?)

Psh... yeah trillian is good.... buy ever heard of AdiumX? AdiumX is pretty much your "trillian for mac" and it works stevey wonders....

And winamp pretty much is useless to me now... VLC > Winamp anyday

macs - no spyware... and like 44 viruses.... built in firewall that works GOOD (unlike windows that has the weird SP2 thing)... its built in email client is good (unlike outlook express)

I'm sick and tired of this. Let it go people.

Volt (and his camp) has his reasons for liking windows more than macs.

I (and my camp) have my reasons for liking macs more than windows.

Unless you are going to keep up on your virus stuff (and unless you really think you need access to all the windows programs), I'd think long and hard before buying a PC.

the wide variety of entertainment options leads me to the conclusion:
PC = LANPARTY FRIENDLY.
There's my take.

(Also my pc never crashes, is lightning fast, but I don't use microsoft programs just their os heavily customized.)

I'll shut up now.
