computer won't burn cds

computer won't burn cds

i have 2 cd-rw drives on my computer and none of them will burn anything. they did before, but now they suddenly don't work. what would you suggest? i think i already tried reinstalling the drivers.

Had that problem with a burner. Ultimately had to send it to HP for a replacement burner.

If you have PC Doctor, you may want to run it and see if you get any error messages...

one of my friends had that problem with nero a couple of months ago, i dunno if he managed to fix it

look around for new firmware for either drive and maybe upgrade or install a new program to burn discs (like from nero to Alcohol 120%).

It works. If the CD drive won't burn, it's probably not Win.

Did you do a system restore to an earlier point?

I make restore points all the time. When something goes screwy, that's the problem half the time and you just roll unseen changes back...

Remember that's quite DIFFERENT than System *Recovery* (which should only be a last resort...)
