Firefox...jumps?

Postby Debitt » Sat May 07, 2005 9:41 pm

I've started experiencing an interesting problem today.

When I load up pages in Mozilla (it isn't any specific webpage - it's random, though it hasn't happened on CAA yet), the contents in the window start jumping, like I'm scrolling up and down really fast. (the toolbars, etc. don't jump)

x_x I have no idea what's going on...but it's REALLY annoying.

I experience similar issues when opening lots of windows at once. I have a few websites I go to for like wrestling news, etc. I open all the headlines into seperate windows. From time to time they rezise without me telling them too. Jump around, etc. The thing for me is though...my speed. I am running a 56k modem that only runs around 28.8k speed. Thus, I have no real suprise when it acts wiggy.

I have broadband, so it doesn't happen often, but if there's a lot on a page, sometimes I can see that.

sites with a lot of flash and div layers and just... Messy with lots of different content, FireFox is probably moving it all around, as it's loading, trying to fit it into place, that's all.

It's not just when it's loading - that's what confuses me. I've seen it behave that way when loading a page, but I'm seeing it on pages I've NEVER had problems with before (ie Yahoo.com), and it doesn't just happen when it's loading. It keeps "bouncing" even after the page is fully loaded.

I'm wondering if it's got anything to do with my Firefox skin or the fact that I temporarily changed my desktop from Windows Classic to Windows XP mode. >_> I shall try fixing these.

I use Windows XP mode, but have the original Firefox skin.

OK. Now THAT doesn't make any since to me. Then again, I'm not the windows nerd I used to be...
