Wierdest Error Ever - ATI and Drag-Select

I'm running Win XP on a P3 1Ghz with Radeon 9600SE and newest drivers, and a Labtec USB mouse (I say this because this mouse has caused many problems)

I can play games fine, with no problems, but occasionally, when I drag-select something (particularily text), it freezes and VPU Recover kicks in.

I've done a cursory search at Google...but I'm not that good with it

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance guys
