My Life’s Legacy: Caring For Others
I John 4:7-21

In his classic novel, The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne told the story of a woman by the name of Hester Lrynne who was accused of committing adultery. As her punishment, she was sentenced to wear a purple “Aâ€

Thank you for pointing out I John 4:7-21. I really appreciate another good Bible study, Rev.Doc. ^_^ Now, I can go to bed with His Word on my mind.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Thanks for the lesson!
If I may, I was just reminded of a drifter in my town that used to stay behind our local blockbuster. I used to walk over there on my break to visit a friend that worked there. And after a bit I got to know him and would bring him sandwiches from my work and sit with him.
And really, God gave me so much joy through being with that man and caring for him. And not only that but, as I was caring for that man and 'taking care of him', God was taking care of my needs. And not to say that I had all the money, and possessions or whatever.... but what I NEEDED.
Spiritually and mentally, I was restored and satisfied. I was strengthened in my heart.
We don't really need to worry about ourselves, because He is looking after us. And I think knowing and realizing that, inturn, totally frees us up to serve others.
All praise and honor be to the Lord God of Israel!! My Redeemer!!

Rev. Doc, On another busy day, your exposition of the truth reminds me that it is all about Christ and witnessing the love of Jesus to those around me. Just showing people a smile and even laying your hand gently on their shoulder communicates volumes. Thanks for your teaching. - WillieDoc
